Principal Software Engineer, Equity Derivatives Systematic Trading

The Equities Data & Analytics Technology organization is looking to build a new team in Singapore.
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will function as lead for this new team, responsible for design & development, of an ultramodern Research and Data platform to serve Equity Derivatives Systematic Trading business. Your leadership, technical ability, and problem-solving skills will directly influence business outcomes, priorities, and address a broad range of business growth opportunities using diverse technologies and applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct the evolution and delivery of the Research and Data platform, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical excellence. Partner with Quantitative Researchers and Traders to gather requirements and translate them into robust, scalable solutions for systematic trading, with a focus on Equity Derivatives (Options/Futures). Architect and oversee the implementation of data pipelines, research infrastructure, and analytics libraries, leveraging time series databases (KDB or similar), Data Lakes/Lakehouse, and Cloud-based OLAP Databases. Mentor and develop team members, fostering technical excellence and accountability. Ensure platform reliability, operational stability, and adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements. Drive adoption of modern technology stacks and best practices in software development lifecycle.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field. 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including leadership roles. Proven experience in designing and delivering scalable, data platforms – both batch based as well as streaming. Deep knowledge and experience working with time series databases/analytics Experience with modern data stack - Data Lakes/Lakehouse architectures and OLAP Design & Development of large, commercial grade python applications Knowledge of Equities or Futures/Options Trading having directly worked in a Front office technology team Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and mentoring skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that carries ambiguity, collaborate across multiple teams and drive consensus.Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Proficiency in KDB/q for analytics Knowledge of Equity Options risk/pricing/market structure Use of LLMs in search and/or analytics driven user workflows, familiarity with prompt and context engineering Working knowledge of modern OLAP databases (e.g., AWS Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery) Experience with design and implementation of apps in public cloud environments – AWS (preferable), Azure, GCP
