Grow here.** We are currently seeking a Principal Civil or Structural Engineer to lead a package of works as a Designer’s Site Representative (DSR Package Lead) on a secure infrastructure project within 10 Dock at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth. This is a high-responsibility role suited to experienced professionals with a proven track record in leading site-based engineering operations on large-scale civil or structural projects—particularly in secure, highly regulated environments. As a DSR Package Lead, you will represent AECOM on-site and lead your package of works from a design assurance perspective, ensuring successful, safe, and compliant construction delivery in alignment with the design intent. **What you’ll do!** You will be a key interface between the design teams, contractor, and client, managing site inspections, technical queries, and collaborative resolutions on a daily basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure programmes. **Key Responsibilities** + Lead a package of structural or civil works as the main DSR representative for AECOM. + Oversee inspections and assurance of reinforced concrete and structural elements in line with design specifications and quality standards. + Act as the primary point of contact for the design team on-site, managing communications between the design office, client, and contractor. + Review and provide feedback on contractor proposals, method statements, ITPs, and quality documentation. + Ensure SHE plans are developed to cover packages of work and review at regular intervals. + Manage and coordinate responses to Technical Queries (TQs) and interface issues. + Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across your package. + Review detailed technical reports and inspection records. + Participate in and lead relevant site meetings, progress reviews, and hold-point inspections. + Participate in meetings to discuss technical issues. + Provide mentorship and guidance to junior site representatives and engineers. + Ensure risks and issues are escalated and addressed promptly. **Come grow with us:** And let's not forget about the perks at AECOM. Take advantage of career development opportunities, our flexible hybrid working model to ensure a work-life balance that suits your lifestyle, technical practice networks, AECOM University, and volunteering days. **Qualifications** **Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?**   **Requirements:** + Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering. + Extensive experience in delivering or supervising large civil or structural infrastructure projects. + Strong working knowledge of reinforced concrete design and detailing, including inspection requirements. + Extensive site-based experience with an emphasis on technical assurance and compliance. + Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills, especially in multi-stakeholder environments. + Sound understanding of construction health and safety practices. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Previous experience in a DSR or Resident Engineer role on large-scale infrastructure projects. + Familiarity with working in secure or highly regulated environments (e.g., defence, nuclear, MOD). + Competency in reviewing and interpreting technical drawings and reinforcement layouts. + In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards. + Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (CEng/IEng with ICE or IStructE) is highly desirable. **Important Details:** + Ability to work full-time on-site within a secure facility. + Eligibility to obtain UK MOD Security Clearance is essential. + Valid CSCS card or ability to obtain one promptly.
