Principal ServiceNow HRSD Developer

Ecolab is scaling an enterprise‑grade HR ServiceNow capability and bringing core delivery in‑house. As our Principal ServiceNow HRSD Developer, you will own end‑to‑end sprint delivery, building robust and secure features across HR Agent Workspace, Employee Center Pro, and Employee Relations modules. You’ll help reduce vendor dependence, raise engineering standards, and ensure a scalable, secure HRSD platform.

HRSD Development and Configuration

Build and enhance HR Services, Record Producers, UI Policies, decision tables, routing rules, and case detail models across COEs, including Employee Relations and other sensitive case types.

Update HR routing rules and decision tables, add branching questions and dropdowns, and ensure fields flow correctly into HR Agent Workspace.

Maintain SLA definitions and conditions to ensure accuracy and performance.

Security and Data Integrity

Implement and maintain COE Security and ACLs to enforce least‑privilege access across restricted HR tables.

Create and refine assignment and routing rules, resolve mis‑routes, and consolidate groups to simplify operations.

Integrations

Partner with HRIS/Integrations to keep Workday data reliable in HR Profile and HRSD cases, including company mapping, hire/rescind markers, rehire attributes, and related data points.

Employee Document Management (EDM) and Retention

Maintain Employee Document Management flows, including document‑type security policies, routing, retention rules, categories, and visibility.

Employee Center Pro (ECP) and Now Mobile

Support updates and resolve UX and content issues for portal widgets, translations, taxonomy alignment, quick links, and knowledge surfacing to maintain consistent, localized experiences across desktop and mobile.

HR Agent Workspace

Configure HR Agent Workspace lists, tabs, views, and case details for speed, accuracy, and ease of use.

Enforce required fields, workspace branding, and ensure agents land in the correct workspace from notifications.

Employee Relations (ER) and I‑9

Take end‑to‑end ownership of Employee Relations and I‑9 capabilities in HRSD, ensuring stability, scalability, and continuous improvement across workflows, case management, documents, notifications, security, dashboards, taxonomy, and portal experiences.

Lifecycle Events, Journeys, and Manager Hub

Own the end‑to‑end Onboarding and Preboarding capabilities powered by Lifecycle Events, Manager Hub, and Journeys, with ongoing enhancements and scalable extension to additional lifecycle moments.

Quality Engineering and Operations

Drive root‑cause analysis and deliver hot‑fixes across all areas of the platform.

Create and expand ATF suites for HRSD (record producers, workspace, routing, notifications) to increase automated test coverage.

Analytics

Build and enhance Performance Analytics indicators, breakdowns, widgets, and dashboards for HRSD.

Knowledge Management

Configure and enhance Knowledge bases, lifecycle workflows, and approval processes to improve findability, quality, and compliance.

Release and Plugin Lifecycle

Lead HRSD release planning, including coordination of updates, ATF‑driven testing cycles, and deployment activities.

Manage plugin evaluations, activation planning, version control, and ongoing lifecycle maintenance.

Virtual Agent, Now Assist, and AI‑Driven Enhancements

Partner with platform engineering to evaluate and deploy new AI‑agent, generative‑AI, and LLM features, ensuring secure, scalable adoption aligned with HR governance and COE needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of hands-on experience implementing, configuring, and customizing enterprise cloud platforms (preferably ServiceNow), including workflow design, data modeling, integrations, and platform governance.

5+ years ServiceNow development with scripting and configuration experience

2+ years HRSD delivery experience across core HR case capabilities

Strong COE Security and ACL configuration skills

Preferred Qualifications

7+ years ServiceNow experience across multiple HRSD modules

Expertise with Employee Relations, I‑9, and sensitive case security

Experience with Lifecycle Events, Journeys, and Manager Hub

Hands‑on work with Virtual Agent, Now Assist, and AI features

Strong Performance Analytics and Employee Center Pro configuration skills

Experience with Workday data integrations and troubleshooting 

Proficiency with ATF framework

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The base salary range for this position is $120,500.00 - $180,700.00. This position is eligible for annual bonus pay based on performance, per plan terms. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
