The work consists of leading a team on planned and ad hoc hardware/system engineering tasks on customized special application systems. Including system analysis, testing/integration of new deliveries, and discrepancy identification and work off supporting the customer’s 24x7 mission. Personnel selected for this position will be the Principal Systems Responsible Engineer (SRE) and required to work a flexible schedule which includes periodic after-hours short turn-around call-in support. **Location** : Near Paso Robles, California **What You Will Do** + Primary responsibilities include Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support to a large, integrated, complex Hardware-Software communications systems in a real-time environment. + Discrepancy report work off and problem resolution, O&M training/mentoring, trending and analysis, procedure development, data collection, fault isolation, and performing real-time manual actions to restore system capabilities. + Preventive and corrective maintenance support across multiple external interfaces over an extensive multi-tiered network. + Work closely with delivering factories to provide support to development activities, installation efforts, and special test configurations. + Contribute to the development of new creative and complex concepts that will provide value to the customer. + Report and document anomalous performance and interact with other team members to validate operational requirements performance. + Crosstrain in other operational positions as assigned and assist with the training of other personnel. + Development of troubleshooting/recovery plans and Implementation of associated management and customer briefs may also be required. + Develop and maintain an active training plan for associated systems. + Support test activities and/or operational requirements as necessary. + Problem-solving in time-critical situations. + Lead team in corrective maintenance actions requiring removal/replacement, repair, and testing of failed hardware. + Schedule daily/weekly tasks for team; able to prioritize tasks based on importance and urgency. + Performance of maintenance activities will include climbing multiple sets of stairs, ladders, lifting/carrying up to 50lbs, working in non-environment-controlled spaces, working at elevated heights. **Qualifications You Must Have** + Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience. + Experience in Receive Facility (RF) communication antennas and associated transmit and receive hardware systems. + Experience with various test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum/link/network analyzers, power meters and signal generation equipment. + Experience adhering to administrative, safety and security policies. + Experience with SATCOM. + Experience with Customer built and Commercial Off the Shelf (COTs) based high speed networks, IT systems and real-time software applications supporting communication systems. + Experience in developing training plans and training individuals. + Experience with Communications Security (COMSEC) and performed duties as primary COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) + Security+ certification or higher. + **An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
