Principal Scientist - Ecotoxicology

We are currently looking for a visionary Principal Scientist to join our Ecotoxicology team based in Shardlow, Derbyshire, where you will be at the forefront of ecotoxicological testing, shaping strategies, mentoring teams, and delivering high-impact solutions. Your work will influence regulatory decisions and contribute to environmental sustainability.

As a senior scientific leader, you will oversee and advance our ecotoxicology initiatives. You’ll be the go-to expert for technical excellence, guideline compliance and scientific innovation. Ensuring our services meet the highest standards and support long-term strategic growth.

Job Responsibilities will include:

Lead scientific development and excellence in ecotoxicologyDeliver robust regulatory science aligned with global standardsProvide expert consultation and mentorship to scientific teamsInterpret complex data and ensure high-quality reportingCollaborate with analytical and operational leaders to optimize outcomesEvaluate and implement new technologies and assay capabilitiesRepresent the organization in client meetings, conferences, and scientific forumsSupport business development through technical consultation and client engagement

Skills and experience

Extensive experience in ecotoxicology or a related scientific fieldProven expertise in regulatory ecotoxicology and scientific reportingExperience with OECD guideline-based method development and validationStrong background in research, data interpretation, and technical process developmentExcellent communication and presentation skillsProficiency in laboratory systems, Microsoft applications, and statistics
