Clinical Research. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Scientific Affairs. This role will be responsible for managing our robust clinical research pipeline for all current products as well as future innovations. The Principal Scientist, Clinical Research will be an integral member of the LIV R&D team and will have cross functional collaboration within all levels of the business but in particular with Regulatory Affairs as well as our partners at Universities and CROs. The ideal candidate has a background in nutrition science, sports nutrition, or physiology and has experience with clinical research within the food and beverage space. **Functions and duties of this role include, but not limited to:** + Execute robust clinical trial pipeline + Support strategy for future clinical trials + Conduct thorough literature reviews on a wide variety of hydration related topics to ensure up to date substantiation + Work closely with Regulatory Affairs to develop claims derived from trials + Creation of marketing friendly data dissemination reports to be used in marketing campaigns + Effectively communicate and lead in a cross-functional team environment, serving as a recognized technical expert. + Stay up-to date with scientific publications and updates in hydration science, sports nutrition, and related fields. + Collaborate effectively with external research PI’s at Universities and CRO’s **Qualifications:** + Preferred educational requirements: + PhD in Nutrition, Exercise Science, Physiology or Related Field + Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience, with at least 5 years in clinical research + Excellent planning, organizational, and project management skills. + Strong working knowledge of nutrition science, health and wellness, scientific communication, nutrition trends, and hydration and nutrition research + Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, draw valid conclusions, and propose solutions. + Highly innovative and creative. + Excellent written and oral technical communication skills. + Strong organizational and teamwork skills, ability to multi-task. + Ability to work in a fast-paced setting under tight deadlines. + Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office + Expert level proficiency and experience with PowerPoint **What We Give:** + 100% company-paid medical, dental and vision insurance for employees (PPO, HMO and Kaiser options). + A 401k plan with company match, short and long-term disability coverage. + A generous PTO and sick policy that includes 13+ paid annual holidays. + Wellness classes (fitness, mental health, nutrition, finance, etc.). + An Employee Assistance Program, including membership for guided meditation for all employees. + Monthly tech and wellness reimbursement. + An infinite supply of Liquid I.V. for endless hydration! **Work Environment:** + This role is HYBRID Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. The compensation band for this position is $123,000 - $184,600 annually. The exact salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, internal company equity, and budget. The listed range is applicable only to the annual base salary and does not include additional perks, benefits, or applicable bonus eligibility comprising the total compensation package.
