Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on technical leader to define and champion a comprehensive test strategy across our engineering organization. This role requires a deep understanding of modern test automation while appreciating the importance of manual testing, designing for testability, and embedding quality thinking into every stage of the software development lifecycle. You will lead the way in unifying our testing philosophy, boosting confidence and velocity through exceptional test automation.
ResponsibilitiesDrive a strategic roadmap for quality investment through long-term improvements to our testing approach.Lead by example in this hands-on role; write code, contribute to frameworks, and model excellence.Design and implement test automation architecture that is fast, scalable, reliable, and tightly integrated with development workflows.Assess current tooling, practices, and test coverage to identify gaps and lead the evolution toward best-in-class solutions.Create and champion guiding philosophies around the types of tests we write, where they live, and who owns them.Influence through partnership and mentorship by collaborating with engineers, QA, and team leads to enhance testing practices.Define and track meaningful quality metrics such as test coverage, flakiness, bug leakage, and release confidence.Champion a shared-responsibility model for quality across engineering.Promote shift-left testing and testability as part of system design.Empower developers to write and maintain test suites as part of their normal development workflow.Lead by example with clean, maintainable test code and reusable frameworks.Support learning and adoption through focus sessions, internal workshops, and documentation.Reinforce clear ownership and expectations around test planning.Embed test planning and quality review into product design and engineering kickoffs.Create lightweight, effective formats for test plans that integrate with existing workflows and tools.Define quality gates and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines and PR processes.Ensure quality and testability considerations are addressed early in the development lifecycle.Essential SkillsHistory of success in defining and building a comprehensive, modern test strategy for cloud-native enterprise software.Deep expertise in test automation frameworks, tools, and CI/CD integration.Experience working with and alongside manual testers.Strong coding skills, including proficiency in Python and familiarity with test frameworks like Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, and JUnit.Understanding of Agile, DevOps, and continuous delivery environments.Excellent communication and mentoring skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in QA change management processes across multiple teams.Worked at recognizable SAAS companies.Strong Microservices experience.DevOps experience with strong CICD processes.Familiarity with one of the major clouds (GCP, AWS, Azure).Comfortable with Python and automation.Lead/Principal/Staff level experience.Work Environment
This role requires working five days on-site. You will be part of a world-class engineering organization, collaborating with top engineers, and contributing to a significant product development initiative. The company offers a competitive compensation structure and a robust stock plan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
