Overview

Parsons Corporation is now hiring for a Principal Project Manager for our Traffic Engineering practice in San Diego, California. This is a regular part-time role ( 20 hours or more per week) with full benefits.

Responsibilities

The primary role  of the Principal  Project Manager  includes working as part of a company-wide traffic team on a variety of traffic analysis and design needs for a range of transportation projects in the San Diego and Southern California region. Projects are likely to range from concept development and preliminary engineering studies to final design projects. The position will entail traffic engineering design, traffic signal design, traffic impact analysis, capacity analysis, operational analysis, travel forecasting, traffic simulation modeling, and crash /safety studies. You will also assist with marketing activities such as proposal writing and meeting with clients.

Additional Responsibilities :

Work with a team of engineers and technicians designing and producing a variety of traffic engineering projects.The responsibilities will include assisting in analysis, design and implementation of projects such as traffic impact studies, traffic operations studies, capacity analysis, traffic signal design, signal timing, signing, striping, lighting and traffic control plans. Strong working knowledge of traffic analysis software (Synchro, HCS, VISSIM) is essential.  Provides support for other engineering activities as required.  May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project.Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.

Performs Quality reviews on engineering documents including traffic signal plans and traffic reports Provides recommendations to enhance design and report documents. Provides feedback and guidance to staff engineers. Assists in review and provides feedback on company proposals.

Qualifications

BS degree in Civil Engineering (with Traffic Engineering electives preferred), from an accredited institutionAn active PE in California is highly preferred15 years or more of experience or equivalent working knowledge/experience in the field of traffic engineeringExperience and knowledge of Caltrans guidelines is essential for this roleHands-on experience with basic traffic engineering software including Synchro, VISSIM, HCS, MicrostationAbility to work on multiple assignments and be accountable for project/task schedules and budgetsStrong communication and technical writing skills are essential as well

Salary Range: $144,800.00 - $260,600.00
