Our Parsons San Francisco / Oakland Bay Area offices have a new position open for a Principal Project Controls Specialist to join our team! In this role you will get to assist in responsibilities related to cost control, budget control, data management, reporting and the project control system for transportation clients such as BART in the region. This role will allow for hybrid remote work (meaning allowed to work from home 2 days per week) after an initial 3 month period of full time in office work.
What You'll Be Doing:
Assists in responsibilities related to cost control, budget control, data management, reporting and the project control system.Identifies best practices and coordinate the development and implementation of project controls tools and procedures to support these best practices.Hands on, detailed analysis and validation of data to ensure accuracy and reasonableness.Organizes program and project level data to enable timely and accurate reports.Develops metrics and reports so that accurate and timely information can be provided to management and stakeholders.Develops new program and project control processes and procedures related to budgets, estimates, schedules and roll up of program information.Reviews proposed project budget and scope changes for proper justification and documentation.Troubleshoots project-specific budget, scope, schedule, funding or documentation issues working with other Divisions, Branches or Departments.What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Experience in Project Controls work, including planning, budgeting, estimating, forecasting, scheduling, cost control, schedule control, and project reporting.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Information Technology, Finance/Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent experience.10 years of more relevant experience with project controls supporting construction projects, typicallyExperience as a Program or Project Controls Specialist in a government agency or infrastructure engineering and construction projects, using state-of-the-art productivity and Project Control tools such as Oracle Primavera, Contract Manager, Unifier, Timberline Gold Job Cost & Accounting System, or similar program management softwareEssential Skills:
Strong working knowledge of project control functions and processes including planningScheduling, cost estimating cost control, change management, financial and project accounting process and systemsJunior to Mid -level operational experience in above scope of workExcellent interpersonal skills, working with others in a dynamic team setting and communicating directly with the task manager and other staffExperience in data management and performing Financial Analysis and ProjectionsProficiency in Microsoft Office suites (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills required with ability to create pivot tablesEffective Communication and problem solving skills is requiredMinimum Clearance Required to Start:
