Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA), Algorithms, Modeling, and Assessments (AMA) Division is seeking a Principal Program Manager in the Nuclear Environments and System Assessments (NESA) Directorate. In this role, you will support our strategic initiatives in missile defense, space, and nuclear weapon effects and will be responsible for managing programs and conducting business development critical to the success of our organization as well as national security. Candidates will have a strong background and passion for missile defense applications, space systems, systems engineering, nuclear weapon nuclear survivability, modeling and simulation (M&S), and system design and analysis.
What you’ll do as a Principal Program Manager Manage IDIQ and program task orders. Conduct program management activities including scheduling, budgeting, planning, monitoring, technical oversight, and customer communications. Conduct business development activities including customer engagements, proposals, marketing, briefings, and strategic planning in areas focused on missile defense, space, systems engineering, and nuclear weapon effects. Develop marketing plans, strategies, and execute those plans. Report progress on plans and strategies. Conduct/recommend M&S, analysis, and evaluation of missile defense systems, components, and concepts. Present technical briefings, findings, requirements, analysis, and recommendations. Prepare and review technical documentation. Assist and support development of software applications and models in missile defense, space, nuclear weapon effects, survivability, and M&S. Support software planning, development, testing, deployment, and usage. Work directly with our customers, other contractors, and other ARA teams to conduct business development activities. Principal Program Manager Requirements Bachelor's in physics or engineering with a minimum of 12 years of experience or a master’s with 10 years of experience or a PhD with 8 years of experience. US citizen with an active secret or top-secret DoD security clearance (or equivalent DOE clearance). Demonstrated experience in missile defense, space and nuclear weapon effects and nuclear survivability. Experience in M&S, software development processes, and system analysis. Experience with developing marketing briefings, presentations, plans, and strategies. Strong communication skills. Outstanding presentation skills. Willing to travel. Principal Scientist Preferred Qualifications MS in Physics or Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of work experience or PHD in Physics or Engineering with 8 years of work experience.
