Principal Product Manager - Research Technology 

Location: NYC, Boston, or Chicago 

Role Overview 

As Principal Product Manager for Research Technology, you'll play a senior leadership role in defining and executing the product strategy for our global Research function, which generates analytics and insights that are a strategic differentiator for JLL. You'll serve as a senior product leader embedded with the Research organization, partnering closely with Research executives and regional leaders to shape how research data, insights, and reports are produced, governed, and delivered at global scale. This role combines deep technical expertise in enterprise data platforms with strategic product leadership, operating through strong matrix management to drive the technology underpinning our Research transformation journey. 

Key Responsibilities 

Develop product strategy and build alignment around short- and long-term product roadmaps, defining a product vision aligned to Research strategy and enterprise priorities 

Own and lead a global portfolio of Research products and platforms spanning regions, asset classes, and stakeholder groups 

Design and deliver solutions for global Research data, including data pipelines, APIs, and integration architectures that power data quality and analytics at scale and with speed 

Define data models, schemas, and governance frameworks that enable reliable, high-quality data 

Lead deep, continuous discovery with Research users and leaders across regions, balancing local needs with scalable global solutions 

Act as a trusted thought partner to senior Research stakeholders on how products, platforms, and data enable insight at scale 

Partner closely with engineering, data, architecture, and security teams to evolve cloud-native platforms, modern data ecosystems, and trusted research tools 

Provide strong product leadership across multiple teams and initiatives, ensuring alignment, momentum, and high standards of execution 

Maintain data product backlogs and lead agile ceremonies for multiple scrum teams 

Track, analyze, and iterate on hypotheses to continuously drive product satisfaction 

Rationalize existing products and make prioritization decisions across the portfolio 

Define, track, and report key milestones and business metrics 

Communicate clearly and credibly with senior stakeholders, translating product and delivery complexity into business-relevant narratives 

Leverage AI tools to prototype and contribute directly to the development of key products 

Qualifications 

8+ years of product management experience with at least 4+ years focused on data products, platforms, or infrastructure 

Demonstrated success shipping products across multiple stakeholder groups, regions, and global teams 

Deep hands-on experience building modern data platforms (data warehouses, lakes, or lakehouses) and orchestrating complex data pipelines 

Proficiency with data platform technologies and concepts including ETL/ELT tools, API design, data modeling, and cloud data architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP) 

Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional product teams, including product managers, engineers, and designers 

Experience operating as a senior product leader in matrixed environments, influencing outcomes without direct authority 

Strong strategic judgment paired with hands-on execution capability 

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior and executive audiences 

Self-starter who thrives in entrepreneurial, fast-paced environments with the ability to navigate and execute amid ambiguity 

Passion for building data-driven products with focus on value creation 

Proven track record leveraging AI tools for product development 

Preferred Experience 

Experience in the Commercial Real Estate data ecosystem 

Experience leading global product portfolios with multiple teams and concurrent initiatives 

Background in commercial real estate, research, financial services, or other insight-driven, data-intensive industries 

Experience modernizing legacy platforms and guiding teams through significant change 

Familiarity with enterprise data platforms, governance, and compliance considerations 

Experience working with data engineering, analytics engineering, and platform engineering teams

Estimated compensation for this position:

250,000.00 – 300,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
