Amazon Marketplace and Global Selling has been the engine of growth for Amazon over the past several years. We are looking for an intellectually curious, self-driven, innovative, and highly ambitious leader to define and own the Global Selling product strategy for Marketplace in Japan.

The Global Selling Principal PMT owns the end-to-end product vision, long-term product strategy, and executive-level roadmap governance for a portfolio of programs that drive our Seller Business in Japan. This leader operates as the primary product authority across a complex, multi-stakeholder environment — partnering with Business teams in China, Korea, EU and US technology teams in Japan; and Global Logistic, Selection, and Seller Growth teams in the US. The role demands a leader who can set the directional north star for Japan's Global Selling product ecosystem, influence worldwide technology investment decisions, and build sustainable, scalable cross-border logistics solutions that unlock long-term OOC Seller growth.

This is a highly strategic role with significant business impact, requiring the leader to drive first-principles innovation, accelerate adoption of seller tools, and deliver step-change contributions to business growth. The ideal candidate operates with full autonomy, thrives in ambiguity, and earns trust and influences at the most senior levels of the organization. The candidate brings a deeply strategic mindset, sound business judgment, and the ability to shape and govern technology roadmaps while driving execution through Agile. This role demands superior communication and executive presence to align and influence key stakeholders — including business leaders, global product and technology teams, legal, finance, and account management — across a highly matrixed, worldwide organization.

Key job responsibilities
Define and champion the long-term product vision and strategy to systematically close the OOC Seller launch and Selection recruitment disparity between Japan and the United States, setting the directional north star for the organization and influencing executive-level alignment.
• Shape and drive global technology roadmaps by establishing Japan as a strategic priority, building deep partnerships with product and engineering leadership across worldwide teams to secure resource commitment and accelerate delivery of Japan-specific product requirements.
• Lead the design and implementation of automation and scalability frameworks, setting the standard for how technology solutions are architected to deliver step-change improvements in efficiency and effectiveness at scale.
• Partner with senior business leadership to define the product adoption strategy, ensuring cross-functional alignment and accountability across business, operations, and technology teams to drive measurable impact.
• Define and lead the strategy for building sustainable and scalable cross-border logistics solutions, partnering with global logistics, operations, and technology teams to architect end-to-end fulfillment capabilities that reduce delivery cost and lead time for OOC sellers entering the Japan market, and establishing the operational foundation for long-term cross-border commerce growth.
• Serve as the primary thought partner to Finance leadership on investment strategy, providing rigorous financial analysis and business case development to ensure the long-term sustainability and prioritization of product and program investments.
