Job Description
We are seeking Principal Process Engineer to support packaging and web converting operations across our 27 divisions, with a primary focus on the Dinocore division, which serves as the central hub for packaging engineering. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer—possibly in the final chapter of their career—who’s looking for a fun, impactful opportunity to mentor, innovate, and solve meaningful challenges.
You’ll report directly to Senior Packaging Engineering Manager, who leads a team of 8 Packaging Engineers, and have a dotted-line reporting relationship to the site lead in Minnesota.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage packaging, labeling, validation, and equipment solution development projects.
- Define, specify, and document packaging requirements and materials.
- Characterize, test, validate, and implement new package designs to meet Medline and OEM needs.
- Provide technical oversight for mechanical and packaging systems; resolve issues and drive improvements.
- Conduct statistical analysis for TMVs and Gage R&Rs using tools like Minitab or equivalent.
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop packaging components and materials; negotiate and manage cost reduction efforts.
Interface with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Marketing, OEM, and Regulatory to ensure project success.
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation to meet regulatory and customer requirements.

Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of direct packaging development experience.
- Certification in Minitab or similar statistical analysis tool.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate across all levels.
- Proficiency in writing Protocols, SOPs, and Work Instructions. - Bachelor’s degree in Material Science or Packaging Engineering.
- 10+ years of packaging development experience in a related industry.
- Experience with sterilized products and software validations.
- Black Belt Certification and training in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong written Spanish communication skills.
- Familiarity with packaging for web converting production equipment (e.g., 3M-style converting).
