Job Description: **Job Overview** TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements. Essential Functions • Defines, coordinates, and drives scouting and development of stamping methods (traditional and alternative) to meet micron-level tolerances on lead frames and contacts. • Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity and innovation. • Adapts and makes departures from traditional methods or approaches to develop solutions for high precision lead frames & contacts expanding our rapid prototyping, low & high-volume manufacturing capabilities. • Creates relationships with internal/external innovators and influencers on precision stamping. • Coordinates and facilitates technical engineering related communications for internal & external stakeholders. • Creates or controls the process design standard for traditional or alternative stamping methods used by other engineers (e.g. technology transfer to end users). • Contributes to the manufacturing technology development roadmap of the AMP team. • Contributes to technology and product decisions, driving innovation and execution to increase competitiveness at both the department and the larger organization levels. • Acts as the binding element between key cross-functional teams (AMP, AST, ADT, PDE, MPDE, CPT)*, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of these critical interfaces. • Documents all related processes in applicable TE systems, and maintains adherence to all appropriate specifications, regulatory and customer requirements • Supports supply chain to verify related suppliers’ compliance and capability. • Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment, performing work without appreciable direction. • Drives results primarily through collaboration and influence, not through direct reporting relationships. • Builds a culture of agile adapting that responds to environmental changes. • Provides guidance and complex subject matter training to less experienced co-workers. • May lead or guide a small team of professionals and mentors and coaches other engineers. • Provides measurable input to the objectives and goals of the department in support of the function and business unit strategies. **What your background should look like:** • Bachelor’s Degree (Mechanical Engineering or related) with 12+ years of experience required, or Masters with 10+ years of experience, or PHD level with 6+ years of experience. • CAD Software Proficiency: CREO, AutoCAD, or equivalent. • Mastery in designing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing metal stamping tools and dies. • Metal Forming Expertise in metal forming techniques. • Deep understanding of the equipment and systems relevant to the stamping process. • Ability for problem-solving & troubleshooting complex issues in stamping processes and equipment. • In-depth knowledge of quality tools (FMEA, Six Sigma, DOE, 8D/Continuous Improvement). • Experience with micron and sub-micron tolerances for electrical connectors and sockets is a plus! • Experience with metal forming simulation is a plus! • Fluent in English (read, write, and speak). • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with internal/external stakeholders. • Practical application of MS Office software (Word, Excel, PPT, Project, & Outlook). • Strong project management skills (PMI PM process model) to simultaneously manage multiple complex projects. • Based in China-Shanghai and willingness to travel up to 25% average. **Competencies** Values: Integrity, Accountability, Inclusion, Innovation, Teamwork **Job Locations:** SHANGHAI, Shanghai 200233 China Posting City: SHANGHAI Job Country: China Travel Required: 10% to 25% Requisition ID: 136242 Workplace Type: External Careers Page: Engineering & Technology TE Connectivity and its subsidiaries, affiliates, and operating units (collectively, the "Company") is committed to providing a work environment that prohibits discrimination on the basis of age, color, disability, ethnicity, marital status, national origin, race, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, disability or any other characteristics protected by applicable law or regulation.
