What You Will Do:
As a Principal Manufacturing Development Engineer you’ll lead and coordinate projects and improvements across the extended value streams by providing technical manufacturing support to a program from the early development phases through transition to production. In this highly visible role, you’ll leverage your technical knowledge of manufacturing capabilities, product technologies, factory requirements and business processes to establish and execute the manufacturing plan and influence technical program decisions to support the overall program value stream.
Typical Responsibilities will Include:
Participation in manufacturing and test requirements developmentDesign for manufacturing activitiesManufacturing process development and factory capabilities analysis to ensure factory readiness and improve product producibilityManaging large and complex projects, leading cross functional teams across various factories, and supporting CAM activities.Your main responsibilities will include:
Supporting transition to production activitiesProviding technical input and peer review to engineering designs and design changes. Providing technical guidance and problem solving to factory engineersApplying manufacturing engineering skillsets across the extended value stream to resolve constraints and improve process and product designsOther Responsibilities may Include:
Serving as the manufacturing and producibility authority within the programRecommending process and procedural changes to ensure that objectives in the areas of cost, efficiency, and quality are metDesigning, controlling, and improving the producibility of products through collaboration with a multi-disciplined teamIdentifying and resolving constraints across the programParticipating in corrective action investigationAbility to work on a Special Access ProgramThe ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.This job is posted as ONSITE and is based at Raytheon’s Tucson, AZ facility.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), and minimum 8 years of relevant experience. An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position.Experience working in manufacturing production.Experience with manufacturing process development or improvementExperience with CAM (Control Account Management) or EVM (Earned Value Management) or managing project or program cost, schedule and riskQualifications We Prefer:
Ability to identify, reduce and eliminate cost, quality and schedule constraints through technical engagements along with an innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and keeps pace with advances in technologyTechnical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE)Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines in a team environmentExperience with technical writing and interpreting and improving technical drawings and communicating technical information to different audiencesExperience with MRP systems and Manufacturing Readiness AssessmentsPrefer Bachelor’s Degrees in the following areas: Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical EngineeringCurrent DoD security clearance (secret)What We Offer

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
