Join us and transform the lives of patients while transforming your career. **What you will do** In this pivotal leadership role, you will guide the integration of data into Amgen’s Veeva Vault Platform, shaping and executing strategies and solutions to support these efforts. Collaboration across both cross-functional and global teams will be essential to ensure the smooth execution of integration and operational activities. The ideal candidate brings a record of effective leadership within technology-driven settings, expertise in managing enterprise platforms, and a dedication to advancing digital transformation in biotechnology. Success in this position requires the ability to champion critical organizational initiatives, nurture a culture of collaboration, and achieve impactful results within a matrixed environment. **Roles & Responsibilities:** + Develop, implement, and maintain Amgen’s enterprise Veeva Vault Platform data architecture vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. + Design and sustain logical, physical, and conceptual data models to effectively support business requirements. + Establish and enforce robust data standards, governance frameworks, and industry best practices. + Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate operational processes into normalized Vault data structures and refine Veeva Vault data integration strategies. + Partner with enterprise architects, domain product owners, and IT leadership to define and advance Veeva Vault Platform data integration roadmaps. + Lead enterprise data governance initiatives, including the implementation of data quality frameworks, stewardship councils, and comprehensive metadata management. + Promote platform data reliability and efficiency through optimized release management, execution, and the establishment of consistent DevOps and CI/CD methodologies. + Strategize and oversee platform data integrations, ensuring adherence to standardized integration protocols; design integration workflows, develop connectors, centralize build and operations, and facilitate a unified DevOps approach for integrations. + Identify and mitigate data architectural risks to ensure that Veeva Vault data integrations are scalable, secure, and resilient. + Maintain thorough documentation of platform architecture, encompassing principles, standards, user guides, and data models. + Drive continuous improvement in Veeva data integration and architecture by proactively seeking opportunities for innovation and enhanced efficiency. + Conduct impact assessments, clearly delineate current (“AS-IS”) and future (“TO-BE”) states, and recommend integration upgrades in response to new Veeva features and functionalities. + Provide subject matter expertise in Veeva Vault data integration to the team, offering strategic guidance on data architectural solutions, design, and complex implementation challenges. + Deliver hands-on technical leadership in resolving intricate technical issues and ensuring seamless deployment and system integration. **Basic Qualifications and Experience:** + Doctorate Degree and 2 years of experience in Business, Engineering, IT or related field OR + Master’s degree with 8 - 10 years of experience in Business, Engineering, IT or related field OR + Bachelor’s degree with 10 - 14 years of experience in Business, Engineering, IT or related field OR + Diploma with 14 - 18 years of experience in Business, Engineering, IT or related field **Required Skills:** + Demonstrated expertise in architecting and developing deployment strategies for data integrations with the Veeva Vault Platform and related products. + Advanced proficiency in system integration, including experience with APIs, middleware solutions, and data migration between Vault and external systems. + Proven track record of chairing Data Governance Boards or Design Authorities to promote cross-Vault standardization. + Strong understanding of Data Lake technologies, such as **Databricks** , among others. + Hands-on experience in **Mulesoft** and Python script development. + Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, technologies, and methodologies. + Background in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industries, with a thorough understanding of regulatory submissions, clinical operations, and quality processes. + Ability to map Vault data models to relevant business domains. + Experience in system integration and IT infrastructure management. + Familiarity with data, change, and technology governance at the platform level. + Experience working within agile methodologies, including participation in Product Teams and Product Development models. + Skilled in designing scalable, secure, and cost-efficient solutions. + Strong partner and team management capabilities. + Proven leadership of multiple teams to achieve business objectives. + Experience with cloud-based architecture, such as AWS, Azure, or comparable platforms. **Good-to-Have Skills:** + **Excellent leadership and team management skills.** + Strong transformation and change management experience. + Exceptional collaboration and communication skills. + High degree of initiative and self-motivation. + Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully. + Team-oriented with a focus on achieving team goals. + Strong presentation and public speaking skills. + Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills + Strong verbal and written communication skills + Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams **Professional Certifications:** + Veeva Vault Platform Administrator (mandatory) + Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) for Teams (mandatory) + Veeva Vault Platform Architect (preferred) + Databricks Data Engineer Professional Certification (preferred) + Databricks Certified Machine Learning Professional (preferred + Mulesoft certification (preferred) **Shift Information:** **This position requires you to work a later shift and may be assigned a second or third shift schedule.** Candidates must be willing and able to work during evening or night shifts, as required based on business requirements. **EQUAL OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT** Amgen is an Equal Opportunity employer and will consider you without regard to your race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.
