Position: Principal Instrumentation Engineer
Location: Perth – with occasional site visits to Darwin
Indicative Term of Contract: 12 months
Skills & Qualifications: Recognised engineering degree in the relevant discipline (or equivalent) and eligible for Engineers Australia membership. Significant Brownfields technical and practical experience, preferably in similar industries and multi?disciplinary teams. Experience in Hydrocarbons/LNG industry. Strong background in managing diverse, multi?location teams and coaching team members (highly desired). Solid experience in client, inter?discipline, and construction interface management. Degree must meet Washington Accord requirements. Functional Safety qualifications (TÜV or equivalent) and EEHA competency are ideal. Ability to work independently when reviewing design documentation and collaborate effectively with client teams. Experience in Instrumentation & Control systems, with preferred site experience troubleshooting and resolving design issues—especially on FPSOs. Field experience on FPSOs or offshore installations is highly desirable.
Responsibilities: Delivering discipline specific engineering services that meet Worley, its clients and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. Initiate, manage and supervise engineering resources on projects to meet project requirements on time and within budget. Manage discipline specific engineering activities such as: ensure the project scopes are clear and that changes comply with project change management processes prepare project documentation such as datasheets, scopes of work, work instructions, input to design drawings. prepare and oversee the production of detailed designs and drawings, specifications, data, calculations and reports participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required quality procedures (eg Checking of technical deliverables) provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities. For example, write requisitions and conduct technical bid evaluations. estimate engineering hours for projects and track hours to approved budget. Design for appropriate levels of risk and be conscious of HSE input to all elements of the design. Provide technical support, supervision and advice to the discipline team and project teams; participate in peer reviews; and consult with relevant resources as required. Identify issues and problems; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and ask for assistance if required. Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in the discipline.
