Principal Facilities Technician (First Shift)

JOB SUMMARY

The Principal Facilities Technician is responsible for the maintenance and set up of all compliance systems and any building facilities’ maintenance, upgrades, and new construction projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensures maintenance, improvements, and routine inspections of all compliance systems including Fire Suppression, Emergency Lighting, Pest Control, Security Equipment, Safety Showers/Eyewash Stations for all building facilitiesCoordinates all building facilities’ maintenance, upgrades, and new construction projects including collecting contractor quotes, pricing negotiations, contacting and coordinating with necessary utilities, and contractor management throughout lifecycle of projectsCollects and analyzes maintenance data for root cause and recommendation on prevention or continuous improvementManages and maintains all facilities’ Waste Management, HVAC, and grounds maintenanceManages and maintains all facilities’ Janitorial, Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Supplies, Critical Spare Parts, and ConsumablesEnsures compliance with all safety policies, regulations, and work instructionsOversees and helps facilitate preventive maintenance program to meet ISO requirements and ensure long term reliability of plant equipmentCollects and analyzes maintenance data for recommendations on prevention or continuous improvementTroubleshoots plant and building equipment to accomplish repairs or modifications on a timely basis including off shifts and weekends, if criticalMaintains company vehicles to include transporting them to and from routine and non-routine maintenance at appropriate vendor locationMaintains an inventory of parts and supplies for maintenanceCommunicates with production supervision as appropriate regarding current projects, maintenance, and facilities workAdvises management on equipment replacement needs and general building issuesEnsures all documentation is accurate and kept up to datePartners with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other support leadership as required for task or project completionParticipates as a member of the plant safety committeePractices good housekeeping and leads organization and 5s eventsSupports project teams and participate as an active project team member as requiredSupports internal and external quality auditsAssists with and/or coordinates custodial work as requiredPerforms other duties as required

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Associates Degree or Degree from Technical School is preferred5 years’ experience in maintenance and equipment troubleshooting requiredControlled Environment experience preferredA valid driver’s license is required

Ability to work in a teamAbility to lead and train othersStrong written and communication skillsProficient with Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Power Point)Ability to schedule and prioritize according to the needs of the businessKnowledge of Mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical circuitry and troubleshooting including PLC controllers, boilers, and various facilities’ equipmentAbility to support weekend or shutdown scheduled facilities eventsSafe and proficient use of Forklifts and or Material liftsKnowledge of regulatory requirements affecting maintenance of plant equipment, preferred
