**A Day in the Life**
Standup, code reviews, algorithm debugging, stakeholder meetings
Feature development, bug fixes, performance optimization, documentation
Fixed false positive bug, optimized caching (22% speedup), PR review, regulatory meeting.
**Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:**
+ Define, architect, and implement a unified test automation strategy covering Desktop, Web, Mobile, Embedded, API, and Cloud-based applications.
+ Design, develop, and enhance scalable automation frameworks using Python, Selenium, Appium, Test Complete, WinAppDriver, and Katalon Studio with support for parallel execution and CI/CD integration.
+ Drive the adoption and institutionalization of AI-driven automation practices, including self-healing scripts, visual verification, intelligent object recognition, and AI-based failure analysis.
+ Establish and enforce best practices for test architecture, code design, reusability, and maintainability across projects and product lines.
+ Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or equivalent tools.
+ Evaluate, recommend, and introduce new-age tools and frameworks aligned with enterprise architecture and long-term technology roadmaps.
+ Define automation KPIs (coverage, stability, execution time, ROI) and regularly present status, insights, and improvement plans to leadership.
+ Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing automation teams, driving innovation and continuous skill development in emerging tools such as Katalon, Playwright, Cypress, and AI-assisted testing frameworks.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software development, system engineering, verification, human factors, and quality teams.
+ Define and refine test strategies to improve overall test coverage, quality, and release confidence.
+ Contribute to Agile ceremonies and support Agile testing practices in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
**Required Knowledge and Experience:**
+ 14+ years of experience in test automation for Desktop, Web, Mobile, and Embedded software applications.
+ Strong understanding of application architecture, SDLC, STLC, and modern software testing methodologies.
+ Proven expertise in automation framework design and architecture, including deep knowledge of design patterns such as Page Object Model, Screenplay, and reusable componentization.
+ Hands-on experience with:
+ Programming languages: Python (mandatory), Java, C#
+ Web automation: Selenium, TestComplete, Katalon Studio
+ Mobile automation: Appium, Katalon Mobile Studio
+ Desktop automation: WinAppDriver, Pywinauto, White, or custom solutions
+ API automation: RestAssured, Postman, Katalon API
+ Experience integrating automation suites into CI/CD pipelines.
+ Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automation documentation.
+ Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and problem solving skills with high attention to detail.
+ Experience working effectively within Agile frameworks.
+ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
**Nice to Have Skills:**
AI & Innovation
+ Familiarity with AI-powered testing tools (e.g., Katalon AI or similar platforms).
+ Exposure to GenAI, prompt engineering, and machine learning concepts applied to software testing.
+ Ability to leverage AI for test optimization, intelligent test selection, test data generation, and predictive failure analysis.
Technical & Domain
+ Experience in Embedded test automation.
+ Knowledge of Cloud-based testing environments.
+ Exposure to advanced CI/CD practices and pipeline optimization.
Leadership & Strategic
+ Experience defining automation roadmaps, tool evaluations, and ROI justification at enterprise scale.
+ Proven ability to lead large, distributed automation teams across multiple product lines.
+ Strong presentation skills with experience communicating technical strategy and metrics to senior leadership
