Principal Engineer II
This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Ready to lead a high performing public cloud engineering team? As a Principal Engineer II, you will work to help the team prioritize, build, and ship the most impactful features to Spectrum’s customers and serve as a mentor to help guide and train other engineers on the team. This position will evaluate the needs, time limitations, and system limitations when developing software. This position must remain up to date on new technologies and software development practices and be able to translate these skills into the team’s deliverables. 


How You’ll Make an Impact

Oversee complex and critical projects that involve several technical systems and constituentsDesigns, implements, monitors, enhances and troubleshoots systems in assigned areasAnalyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessaryTests and review system designsProvides Engineering Technical support and guidance to regional personnel and ensure all technical integration, changes, standards and documentation are metMentor and guide the work of senior technical staffReview work plans and designs and advise on improvementsAdhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicableKnow, understand and follow Spectrum policy

Required Qualifications

Education

Master’s or bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or related work experience

Experience

10+ years of engineering work experience 10+ years of project management work experience

Skills

Ability to read, write, speak and understand EnglishAdvanced knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocolsAdvanced knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology Advanced knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI ModelAdvanced knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operationsAdvanced knowledge of network devices, basic network appliances, and network designing software such as VisioAbility to perform duties in a very fast-paced environment and ability to learn new technology quicklyAbility to use personal computer and software applicationsPreferred Qualifications

Education

Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)Industry and vendor specific certifications and training preferred (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.)

The base pay for this position generally is between $124,000.00 and $220,000.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
