Job Description
AECOM is hiring a Principal Director of Interiors, NY for our NY Metro Buildings+Places practice.
Our NYC Interiors studio is actively seeking a dynamic for our Principal Director of Interiors, NY Buildings + Places business unit who will function as the practice leader to lead, inspire and build the Interiors practice in the NY Metro area market. This role will be based out of AECOM's NYC office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Business Development:
Lead the development and execution of the Interior’s marketing strategy at the local and regional business unit level collaborating with regional leadership and other market sectors leadersIdentify and pursue new business opportunities and grow current client relationships including early client positioningLeverage network of professional business contacts and build external and internal cross market/discipline networkLead pursuit strategy for RFQ/RFP responses including, project approach, scope of work development, fee preparation, and interview preparation and interview.Ensure positive client, consultant, contractor and jurisdictional satisfaction, grow our presence in the marketWork with marketing team in development of marketing material and proposal preparationLeadership/Staff Development:
Serve as a mentor by coaching teams and individuals; grows and develops the group and individual membersResponsible for performance development, prepare and deliver staff evaluations, and determine workload allocationParticipate in interviews and recruiting of professional staff and build appropriate staff levelsEncourage staff exploration, innovation and design excellenceKeep abreast of new technology, materials, methods and developments in his/her specific fieldMaintain membership and activity in appropriate industry organizations and be an active member of the design communityAECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture and 10 years of related experience with an Architectural and Engineering firm, with at least 2 years of experience acting in a leadership or practice-building capacity or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education3 years of Marketing, Design and/or Project Management experience for Federal, NYC Agencies, Transportation, Aviation, Education, CCRE (Corporate Commercial Real Estate), or commercial interiors markets.Registered/Certified Interior Designer (NCIDQ) or Architect with current licensePreferred Qualifications:
15+ years of related experience including 10+ years acting in a leadership or management capacity is strongly preferred3+ years experience working in a multi-disciplinary practiceDemonstrated ability to grow a practice and meet planned revenue targetsStrong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills including both verbal/presentation and writtenExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills• Be able to respond to changing demandsStrong leadership and team building skills with strong initiativeAbility to work under pressureExperience in marketing, design, project management and practice-building/business developmentAdditional InformationAdditional Information:
