Principal Cybersecurity - Mobility Network Security Architect

The mobility network security architect role with advanced Cybersecurity knowledge and specifically hands-on expertise in perimeter security, network segmentation, appliance hardening, mobile network security, PEN testing and vulnerability management of mobility network functions. This role will also apply broad business knowledge and strategic insights surrounding emerging trends and technologies to solve complex problems and drive organizational results. Will lead critical, high-impact projects and design/implements innovative business strategies. Will work with minimal oversight, frequently consulting senior leadership and influencing executive decisions and serves as a mentor and assists others with challenging issues.

Mobility Network architecture – 3G to 5G, RAN, IMS, Diameter, SS7. GTP and securing the control plane and user plane.Building secure designs around 3GPP standards, roaming standards, lawful intercept, Netflow, TACACS (AAA).Can lead security assessments using NIST Cyber pillars.  Work on architecture standards with labs and standards bodies.Appliance hardening.  Good understanding of hardware and supply chain security.Capability to determine risks and introduce robust controls for wireless networks and IOT devices.Performs research on network vulnerabilities and perform RED team/fuzz testing to proactively determine security flaws (PSIRTs) on various network equipment from vendors such as: Nokia, Ericsson, Cisco and Juniper.Triage threat actor activities by evaluating - network devices/servers, perform forensics, TACACS/syslog, packet meta-data analysis etc.

Required Skills:

7+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity.Hands on experience with red teaming & pen testing and will use this knowledge to test network hardware, software, and services.Experience with network security including incident management, cyber investigations, vulnerability remediation, red team exercises, network segmentation and AAA.Experience implementing security controls, policies and standards for core network that cover:  Routing security, network compartmentalization etc., to reduce cyber risks and increase security controls to the core telecom network.Cyber security experience, education and/or certifications.Familiarity with large-scale Mobility networks, and advanced router functions.Knowledge of network security principles including control plane, data plane and element security.  Familiarity with IP & 3GPP standards and protocols. Experience with technical discussions/negotiations with vendors. Experience working with development teams and providing guidance for lab proof of concept work and testing teams. Advanced knowledge of Linux. Mobility network elements such as: AMF, SMF, UPF, UDM, S-GW, P-GW, Control Plane, User Plane and vNF functions. BGP route controls and router protection techniques.

Secondary / Desired skills: SDN and network automation skills a major plus - Network scripting, Ansible, Linux, python.


Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired in Computer Science or Cybersecurity. 7+ years of related experience. Certification is required in some areas.

Our Principal Cybersecurity earns between $141,300-$211,900 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
