Revolutionize Amazon’s Transportation Network: Lead Worldwide Engineering & Innovation's (WWEI) Acquisition/ Partnership Strategy
We're seeking a Principal Business Development Lead to revolutionize Amazon's global transportation network through strategic acquisitions or ground-breaking partnerships in robotics, computer vision, generative AI, and autonomous systems. In this pivotal individual contributor role, you'll work alongside Innovation leads across miles and respective Directors to identify and secure transformative technologies that will reshape one of the world's most complex logistics networks.
Key job responsibilities
• Drive end-to-end strategic partnership initiatives in emerging technologies with direct P&L impact
• Identify and evaluate breakthrough technologies in robotics, autonomous systems, and AI that can transform our transportation capabilities
• Structure and negotiate complex, high-value partnerships with technology innovators and research institutions
• Develop comprehensive technology integration roadmaps aligned with WWEI's strategic vision
• Partner with Innovation leads to validate technical feasibility and integration potential
• Lead due diligence processes for strategic investments and acquisitions
• Create analytical frameworks to assess partnership opportunities and ROI potential
• Represent Amazon at leading technology conferences and maintain relationships with key innovation partners
A day in the life
You'll operate at the intersection of emerging technology and strategic business development. Your day might include evaluating a revolutionary robotics solution, structuring a partnership with an AI research lab, conducting technical due diligence with our innovation team, or presenting partnership recommendations to senior leadership. You'll need to balance deep technical understanding with strategic business acumen.
About the team
The WWEI team is at the forefront of Amazon's technological innovation, pushing boundaries in robotics, AI, and autonomous systems. We work closely with research institutions, startups, and technology leaders to identify and integrate transformative solutions that will define the future of transportation and logistics.
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders
- Experience structuring and negotiating complex agreements and leading cross-functional groups to orchestrate and successfully complete deals
- Experience working with executive leadership in large organizations
- Deep technical knowledge in at least one focus area: Robotics, Computer Vision, AI, or Autonomous Systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering technology products or services in a high growth environment
- 7+ years of successful technology products work from ideation through launch experience
- Experience writing and publishing technical documents or equivalent
- Experience identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing large-scale technology projects for global customers
- Advanced degree in technical field or MBA Experience in transportation technology or autonomous systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $193,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $288,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
