Principal AI Consultant - FSI

Red Hat's Financial Services Consulting team is looking for a seasoned Principal AI Consultant to specialize in delivering innovative AI solutions built on our OpenShift AI platform.

In this strategic role, you'll collaborate closely with customer engineering, development, and operations teams, establishing trusted partnerships by aligning our solutions precisely with customer requirements. You’ll play a pivotal role in orchestrating cross-functional efforts across Red Hat’s Product, Engineering, Support, Professional Services, and Sales teams to deliver exceptional AI-driven outcomes for our top-tier financial services clients.

This position is remote, requiring occasional travel, and candidates must reside near an airport within the United States or Canada in a location where Red Hat conducts business.

What you will do:

Lead strategic collaboration with customers to identify and align AI/ML requirements to Red Hat OpenShift Hosted AI capabilities.

Design, advocate, and deliver comprehensive AI solutions leveraging OpenShift AI and adjacent technologies.

Develop and optimize AI/ML workflows and pipelines within Kubernetes-native applications using OpenShift AI.

Contribute to scalable MLOps practices, including model deployment, lifecycle management, and LLM observability.

Facilitate the adoption of automation and DevOps practices, significantly enhancing cloud infrastructure/application uptime, reliability, and speed-to-market.

Collaborate with Engineering to contribute to open-source and community-driven AI projects relevant to OpenShift AI.

Mentor customer and internal teams, enriching their technical and operational knowledge through documentation, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Act as a primary customer advocate, ensuring robust implementation, ongoing innovation, and reliable support for deployed solutions.

What you will bring:

8+ years in technology roles, preferably customer-facing engagements, consulting, or related positions.

5+ years of deep experience with Linux technologies.

3+ years working extensively with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform or Kubernetes.

Proven expertise in AI/ML technologies, particularly in enterprise implementations using tools such as:

Vector/relational databases and document retrieval systems (e.g., Milvus, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Watson Discovery)

Digital assistant and chatbot development (e.g., Rasa, watsonx Assistant)

Model fine-tuning and orchestration platforms (e.g., MLflow, KServe, Kubeflow, WatsonX Orchestrate)

Prompt engineering, foundation model integration, and LLMOps tooling

Operator Lifecycle Management (OLM) and custom Operator development

Familiarity with virtualization platforms, specifically Red Hat Virtualization and OpenShift Virtualization.

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of hands-on experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible Automation Platform, Puppet, Chef, Salt).

Experience contributing to or collaborating with open-source AI initiatives.

Familiarity with building and optimizing LLM workflows on OpenShift AI.

Financial Services industry experience or strong interest, bringing insight into sector-specific challenges and solutions.

The salary range for this position is $131,420.00 - $216,870.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
