Job Description / Essential Elements: Print Function of Position: To administer district programs at the school level, serve as educational leader and chief executive of the school, be responsible for direction of the instructional program, oversee operation of the school plant, participate in the formulation and implementation of district policies and regulations, provide community leadership, and do other work as required. Desirable Qualifications: Possess five years successful classroom teaching with some administrative experience preferred. Knowledge of a variety of instructional techniques involving the learning process, student behavior patterns; disciplinary techniques; school administrative and organizational procedures; personnel practices. Ability to organize, direct and supervise an effective school program; understand and counsel students, teachers and parents; provide communication between home and school; understand effective school budgeting. Typical Duties: Serve as a management employee in the process of communication between district administration and certificated and classified employees in the school; establish an effecitve school administrative organization with clear lines of responsibility; interpret and implement the district approved curriculum in light of school needs; administer district personnel policies at the school level; determine work assignments for all classified and certificated emloyees at the school level; supervise and evaluate the performance of all assigned personnel; administer the business operation of the school; assign all students; develop plans and organizational procedures for the health, safety, discipline and conduct of students at school; provide leadership to the staff in determining objectives and identifying school needs; evaluate pupil progress; develop a program of community relations; perform other duties as assigned.
