Prin System Architect, Amazon Leo
Amazon.com
The Principal Architect in this role will lead the architecture and delivery of next-generation Leo customer
terminals. This role owns the system from first principles through production at scale—driving technical
decisions that directly impact performance, cost, and global connectivity. This is a high-impact, high
visibility role within the customer terminal organization.
The architect will operate across usability, industrial design, mechanical, RF, antenna, modem, compute,
thermal, power, and network domains to define the optimal product architecture and deliver systems that
work reliably in the real world, at volume and helps to define the technology and product roadmap for
future generations of the terminals for residential, enterprise, aviation, automotive, and government
Key job responsibilities
Develop key product-level metrics for customer terminals
Develop industry benchmarking and define future product positioning
Own the end-to-end system architecture for LEO customer terminals from concept through
production. Define major building blocks and interfaces, and communicate with peer teams
Translate constellation and network requirements into clear, executable system specifications
Drive first-principles design and trade studies across antenna, RF front-end, modem/PHY,
compute, and power
Build and maintain system models and simulations to guide architecture and validate design
decisions
Identify and eliminate system bottlenecks across the full signal chain (antenna → RF → baseband
→ network)
Drive hardware-software co-design to maximize performance and efficiency
Make high-judgment technical decisions with incomplete data and drive them to closure
Work directly with engineering teams to ensure architecture is implemented, validated, and
shipped
Hold a high bar for simplicity, manufacturability, and cost at scale
