Overview of the role:
This role will be accountable for training analytics support for WestJet Flight Ops reporting to the Chief Pilot, Training. Primary objective will be to support the WestJet Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Flight Ops and Chief Pilot team, to ensure they are provided the necessary pilot training data for regulatory compliance and performance analytics for WestJet pilots.
This role will work closely with multiple internal IT stakeholders and software vendors as needed to ensure system stability and performance of WestJet’s Training Management Deployment System and Electronic Training Records.
Key Deliverables include:
Responsible for extracting training database analytics using Power BI, providing multiple reports on a weekly, quarterly and annual basis. The data would include all items related to qualifications, recency tracking and regulatory compliance for Transport Canada and IOSA audits. Training analysis to support various departmental initiatives including the Pilot Training Committee, Training Review Board, Airline Transition Program (ATP) and Annual Training Pilot meetings. Explore transition to Competency Based Training Assessments (CBTA) for WestJet Flight Ops, collaborating with various stakeholders including Standards Pilots, Transport Canada and CARS/ICAO regulations to focus on pilot performance, with an emphasis on standards of performance and the measurement, and the development of training to the specified performance standards based on the extraction of training data. Support development of quality assurance documents tied to WestJet’s Training Management Deployment System. Support Training Records, specific to internal/external audits Pilot training dashboard development, including PFTR/0249 data Support technical elements for the “All Pilot Call” hosted by the Vice President Flight Operations Additional duties as assigned by Chief Pilot, Training
Experience and qualifications:
Bachelor Degree (B.A.) Experience 3-6 years in an applicable role working with training data and associated management system Must be able and willing to work on call or outside normal work hours Extensive experience in PowerBI, Python or equivalentSQL, RESTful API. Knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations 725.106 - Pilot Qualifications 725.124 - Training Program Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel Project Management skills would be an asset French Language proficiency considered an asset
