PRODUCTION
Help as a team, meet or exceed all production goals.Frequently inspect each printing deck, ensuring that the unit is working properly. If there are any changes, inform lead operator or senior assistant.Keep the production floor filled with cut-down roll stock for the job running and the next job. Double check job docket to schedule for correct paper, size, and weight. Clean the plates on all jobs before they are placed in the rack unless the job is to be stripped and discarded.Check the schedule for the next job running, place the cylinders on carts to be placed in the press, fit each cylinder with bearings, bobbins, and gears. (pre-make ready)Check the anilox library, to find if the aniloxes have been damaged or scratched. If any damage is reported, measure to see if anilox can be used in that color.Check the job docket and the history sheet for the rotation of the upcoming job. Place the correct cylinder and anilox in the dead units of the job running.Have all aniloxes cleaned, for the next job on carts or in the dead units. Make sure all aniloxes stay covered to prevent damage.Enter data into Kiwi system correctly and in a timely manner. Fill out press times, codes, docket summaries, rewind, edit rolls, slit rolls, waste, and print out tickets correctly. When doing pre-make ready, double and triple check to make sure the units that have been set up correctly, the gears and bobbins tightened, the gears are the correct size, and the paper is the correct weight and size. Pre-make ready done incorrectly saves no time.While running or doing changeover it is also the unwind operator’s responsibility to perform preventative maintenance on the ink chambers, this consists of, cleaning face plates, chambers, ink pans, cleaning the surge suppressor filters and proper reassembling the unit with new blades and seals.All mounts must be free of high spots and ink build up on sleeves & cylinders

Workplace Organization
A clean plant is a SAFE plant. Keep all debris and trash off the floor and in designated trash areas. Please use proper techniques for disposing of different items; no cardboard in the trash dumpster, all aerosol cans must be popped in the can popper and disposed of in the metal container, no liquid of any form is to be placed in the trash dumpster, batteries are to be recycled, this is in the environmental area. Store all tools and supplies in their proper location. A place for everything and everything in its place. Keep all walkways free of any clutter and trip hazards.Refer to all SWP’S, JHA’s and HazRAC for cleaning.Make sure all containers are labeled, and all have HMIS labels on them whether the materials are hazardous or not. Pick up all empty buckets and the lids and return them to the Flint area for proper disposal. Before each shift it is required to inspect the P.I.T.’s and fill out the inspection report. If a problem is noted, report this to the immediate supervisor or the lead operator to be repaired or taken from service. Refer the SWP on PIT operations.Complete crane inspections before each shift.When operating the cranes, always inspect the load and make sure there is no one in the path of the moving cylinder. Make sure the area is always clear until the print cylinder or anilox has been delivered to the destination. Never walk or allow work to be performed underneath a suspended load.Report all injuries, unsafe conditions and/or acts to lead operator or immediate supervisor Use the roll pushers whenever possible to move rolls. This helps reduce back strains. Refer to SWP.You must always use the cart caddy to move cylinder carts. Refer to SWP.Learn and abide by all SWP’S/ JHA’s and HazRAC before performing tasks.Must attend Tool-Box Topic before the start of each shift. See Opr/ Supervisor.
