General Characteristics – To learn how to coordinate the loading and unloading of shipments and to meet or exceed the goals safely and effectively in, Safety, Quality, Cost, Production, Environmental and Housekeeping

Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.

Special License/Certification Required: PIT certificate, general assessments test.

SAFETY

Work safely Goal “0” Accidents = “0” RIR = “0” LWDMeet plant goal of 2 safety engagements each monthParticipate in all safety activities (Safety Audits, STOP & STEP card program). Revisions of SWP’s, JHA’s and HazRAC. “Hands Up” when starting the machine Adhere to all LOTO/ ESP procedures PPE is required through out the production areas and the warehouse and is also required when coming or leaving the production areas. Refer to PPE policies. Before each shift it is required to inspect the P.I.T.’s and fill out the inspection report. If a problem is noted report this to the immediate supervisor to be repaired or taken from service. Refer the SWP on PIT operations.Report all injuries, unsafe conditions and/or acts to lead operator or immediate supervisorKnow and understand 5 Basic core business principles Use the roll pushers whenever possible to reduce back strains. Refer to SWP.Learn and abide by all SWP’S/ JHA’s and HazRAC before performing tasks.Must attend Tool-Box Topic before start of each shift. See Opr/ Supervisor.

•       Ensure that all chemicals are labeled and stored correctly 

•       Dispose of all aerosol cans properly 

 

QUALITY

Assist in meeting yearly goal for 2023 $0.20 per MSF (or less) in claims Meet plant goal of 2 quality engagements audits each monthAlways Check the paper grade and the size to the Job DocketEnsure every roll that is slit meets the standards in pace and the slit completion form is completed for every roll slit.

COSTS 

Reduce costs through paying attention to detail and double checking your work Assist in reducing the overall waste of the plant to 6.25% through monitoring of the web and making the correct decisions. Reduce core costs by reusing cores on OLR when availableUtilizing setup rolls, reject and free paper Marking edit rolls correctly and ensuring that all the reject product is removed from the shippable roll

 

 PRODUCTION

Help as a team meet or exceed production goals, Run Speed 1135fpm, Waste 6.25%, Total Downtime 26% or less, Set-Up Time 21.5%, Uptime 52.5% for 2023 and a reduction of rewind rolls and/or hold rolls.   

 

 

Workplace Organization/ 5S

A clean plant is a SAFE plant. Keep all debris and trash off the floor and in designated trash areas. Please use proper techniques for disposing of different items; no cardboard in the trash dumpster, all aerosol cans must be popped in the can popper and disposed of in the metal container, no liquid of any form is to be placed in the trash dumpster, batteries are to be recycled, this is in the environmental area.  Please ensure that all bags containing doctor blades are sealed up, to keep from causing injury to someone else. Store all tools and supplies in their proper location. A place for everything and everything in its place. Keep all walkways free of any clutter and trip hazards.Refer to all SWP’S, JHA’s and HazRAC for cleaning.Make sure all containers are labeled, and all have HMIS labels on them whether the materials are hazardous or not.  Always check the housekeeping list for tasks around your area and complete them to the best of your ability.Take ownership of you work area and take pride in keeping your area clean and organized to show our customers and visitors how you want to represent the company.Operate the zamboni.
