The German International School of Silicon Valley (GISSV) is a private school from Preschool through 12th Grade with a bilingual German-English educational program. Upon graduation, our students earn a German International Abitur and take part in all qualifications and exams needed for an American High School Diploma. We serve children of all nationalities in the San Francisco Bay Area and are accredited by the German Government and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) as well as the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS).

Job Summary Job Summary

We have an immediate opening for a committed Preschool Teacher We are looking for teachers for kindergarten or preschool teachers for groups with a maximum of 20 children, who demonstrate exceptional commitment, flexibility, team spirit, creativity, and a strong drive for innovation and initiative. Beyond group responsibilities, our teachers actively participate in school development initiatives, parent communication, outreach, and activities that promote the school’s programs. Using their pedagogical, communicative, and organizational skills, they support school leadership and engage proactively with various school reform efforts. Qualifications and Experience: Degree in Early Childhood Education (B.A.), min. 12 ECE Credits or equivalent Minimum of 2 years, ideally 5+ years, of experience in a preschool environment. Experience in a bilingual environment is a plus. Extensive expertise in working with children ages 2 to 6. Experience with differentiated instruction to support each child’s unique development with knowledge, empathy, and sensitivity. International experience is advantageous. Proficient in English. German is a plus. Personal and Professional Competencies: Strong intercultural understanding. High level of commitment and flexibility. Organizational skills. Dedication to the conceptual development and evaluation of kindergarten educational processes. Multidisciplinary teamwork experience and willingness to collaborate with colleagues, school leadership, parents, and the school board. Exemplary and considerate behavior, marked by accountability and awareness. Strong alignment with and support of GISSV's mission and guiding principles. Must be authorized to work in the US.
