The Preprocessing Analyst, reporting to the Pre-Processing Coordinator, plays a critical role in the optimization of rail tank and hopper car repair processes within the UTLX network. This position involves detailed preprocessing activities, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and the creation of individual car estimates to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

Primary responsibilities and/or essential functions include, but are not limited to:

•    Conduct detailed analysis of preprocessing activities to identify areas for optimization and efficiency improvement. Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure preprocessing aligns with repair specifications.
•    Develop ‘assigned car shopping’ estimates for repair facilities across the UTLX network, considering customer specifications and regulatory requirements. 
•    Collaborate with Fleet and Repair Project Engineers to understand technical requirements and incorporate them into program estimates. Coordinate with the Scheduling team to align preprocessing timelines with overall repair schedules.
•    Provide material requirement reports (MRRs) to facility Supply Chain team to ensure required part numbers for tank and hopper car repairs are available to minimize lead times and improve overall efficiency.
•    Stay informed about industry regulations and ensure that program estimates adhere to relevant standards.
•    Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in preprocessing methods and contribute to the implementation of best practices.
•    Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: 

•    Bachelor's degree preferred in a relevant field or equivalent experience 
•    Experience in preprocessing analysis within the rail tank car repair industry preferred.
•    Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
•    Proficiency in data analytics tools and IT systems preferred.

Pay Range:

64,800.00 - 79,200.00
