PREDOCTORAL RESEARCHER, Economics, to support work at all stages of the research process on research projects in in labor economics, studying imperfect competition as well as the role of institutions (e.g. governments, unions) in regulating labor market inequality; gain exposure to and training in a broad set of economic research topics and methods; work on research projects with faculty at MIT and MIT Sloan: Nina Roussille and Anna Stansbury; engage directly in the research process and implement complete project pipelines covering data cleaning, processing and analysis as well as research and grant writing; and meet regularly with Professors to discuss their work, exchange ideas and receive feedback.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in economics, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field; a minimum of two years of specialized experience with qualitative data analysis, research methods, and social sciences (which may include experience gained as an undergraduate); and strong analytical skills, coding skills in Stata, attention to detail, and communication skills.
This is a full-time position located in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
An employment term of one to two years is expected, with a preferred start September or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is ideally suited to those planning to attend graduate school in economics, computer science, data science or a related field.
