This is Salary Exempt position. 

Job Summary: 
We are currently seeking a Machinery Vibration and Condition Monitoring Analyst to be based at the Decatur East Plant. This “hands on” position will support multiple departments within the East Plant. The position will report to the Maintenance Manager. The position requires analyzing and reporting the health of rotating process equipment to proactively identify component, equipment and system issues and recommend corrective actions. Utilization and implementation of predictive maintenance programs to include vibration analysis, oil analysis, ultrasound and equipment condition monitoring technologies are critical to the success of this role. This position works closely with Operations Management, Site Maintenance Personnel, Reliability Specialists and Engineers to identify and resolve rotating equipment related issues.

Essential Job Functions:Predictive program and condition monitoring administration for the following but not limited to: Rotating equipment such as centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, turbines, blowers, pumps, gearboxes and motorsReview and monitoring of rotating equipment condition including vibration data, lube oil results and utilize other critical operating process data such as pressures, temperatures, flows, loads & efficiencies to determine equipment healthVibration, Infrared, and Oil Analysis Database ManagementProvide remote troubleshooting support to field technicians to resolve vibration instrumentation and data collector issuesProvide vibration data collection training to new employeesDetermines vibration point locations and develops data collection routes for new and existing equipmentHands on target pointing and installation of vibration systems on rotating equipmentField diagnostics and troubleshootingReport equipment deficiencies utilizing EAM (CMMS)Collaborates with responsible Operations and Maintenance Personnel, to prioritize repairs of identified equipment deficienciesIdentifies, justifies and purchases major predictive equipment spare partsRCA participation – provides relevant vibration and oil analysis history to support root cause analysis effortsPerform other duties related to this function to ensure the reliability of plant rotating equipmentThis position requires a combination of office work and field work.Accessibility during off-hours (laptop and cell phone) and travel as required.The applicant must be physically able to work on and around elevated fixed and rotating equipment.Ensure the effectiveness and success of all plant predictive maintenance programs through the development and tracking of KPI’s.Lead and mentor the team of predictive maintenance technicians.Coach, mentor, and provide technical support to the maintenance, instrumentation, mechanical, and operating technicians as related to the areas of responsibility.Research and implement continuous monitoring and predictive maintenance technologies on critical process equipment to eliminate unplanned equipment failures.Required Qualifications:Associate Degree in Engineering and minimum 2 years of experience in rotating equipment / mechanical maintenance/ reliability engineering in an industrial manufacturing environment ORNon-degreed with minimum of 5 years of experience in the maintenance of rotating equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment.Category I certification in vibration analysisEntry level knowledge of oil analysisKnowledge of predictive maintenance methodologies and technologies.Must possess excellent verbal communication, team interaction and presentation skills.Strong computer and standard software experience (MS Office, E-Mail, CMMS, etc.)Demonstrates proficiency in the use, application and maintenance of vibration data acquisition software and the diagnostic equipment used to track the health of the site's critical rotating machineryProven ability to interpret and analyze vibration and oil analysis dataKnowledge of general rotating equipment fundamentals such as assembly fits and tolerancesDesired Qualifications:Category II certification in vibration analysisOil analysis certification from the ICML, STLE or similar organizationExperience specifying vibration systems including transmitters, probes, accelerometers and the associated cablesUnderstanding of installing vibration systems/ knowledge of proper groundingExperience in shop and field balancing of rotating equipmentWorking Conditions:DustChemicals / IrritantsThe scope of the position requires exposure to and use of chemicals, solvents, and cleaners common to mechanical work that may be hazardous and/or cause injury if specific instructions regarding their mixture, use, and disposal/storage are not properly followedInside areas:Spring / Summer: Temperatures in some areas of the facility will be up to or exceed 100 degreesFall / Winter: Temperatures in the facility may be at or below freezingOutside areas:Spring / Summer: Outside temperature may be up to or exceed 100 degrees with potential for high humidity; may be exposed to inclement weather conditions including, but not limited to, rain and windFall / Winter: Outside temperatures may reach freezing or below; may be exposed to inclement weather including, freezing rain, sleet, snow, and windSome manufacturing processes within the facility are highly reliant on machinery and other processing equipment and, as a result, noise levels may reach or exceed 85 decibels and require use of hearing protection for most of the work shiftPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to thirty (30) pounds on a frequent basis, up to fifty (50) pounds on an occasional basisLifting or carrying of weights over fifty (50) pounds is rare;
