Pre-Sales Engineer Intacct
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Sales Engineer to join our team and bring the power of Sage Intacct to life for our prospects and customers. You will be the trusted technical advisor in the sales process—translating business requirements into tailored solution demonstrations, removing technical barriers, and inspiring confidence in our technology.
As the bridge between our sales, product, and engineering teams, you will uncover client needs, design impactful solutions, and deliver engaging presentations that showcase Sage Intacct’s value—helping customers envision how our solutions can transform their business.
Location - 3 days per week out of our Johannesburg office.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with account executives to identify customer needs and propose appropriate software solutions.
• Conduct product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and technical presentations tailored to client requirements.
• Analyse client business processes and align software capabilities to address business challenges.
• Respond to RFPs, RFIs, SOW’s and technical documentation requests.
• Liaise between the sales and technical teams to ensure smooth transition from presales to post-sales implementation.
• Stay current with product developments, competitor offerings, and industry trends.
• Assist in developing presales tools, demo environments, and customer use cases.
• Provide feedback to product and development teams based on customer interactions.
• Working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced sales environment.
• Be able to articulate both the Sage Intacct and Cloud Native Value Proposition
• Clearly articulate the benefits of Sage Intacct’s solutions to all levels including lines of business managers and “C” level executives
• Understand the customer need and establish Sage Intacct’s solution as the best solution that addresses their need
• Develop, present and deliver high-impact demonstrations of the Sage Intacct solution
• Support Corporate and Channel Sales Representatives in production of high-quality sales proposals and supporting materials
• Meet quarterly and annual quota objectives working in tandem with the Corporate and Channel Sales Representatives
• Provide input to other cross-functional departments pertaining to prospect requests and product enhancements as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Bcomm, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related fields of Software and Accounting.
• Understanding of software solutions such as SaaS, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, or cybersecurity (depending on the company’s focus).
• Ability to travel. Onsite visits to Business Partners and Customers.
Must have:
• 4+ years as a pre-sales engineer with implementation consulting or customer support for an accounting, financial or related software application.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or related fields
• In depth knowledge of accounting (or demonstrable experience of accounting processes)
• Solid oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
• Proven track record of increasing deal size and accelerating the sales cycle
• Successful quota achievement
• Familiar with internet application software, API’s, XML and web services
