Pre-Construction Planning Lead Job ID 237673 Posted 15-Sep-2025 Service line PJM Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Construction, Project Management, Quantity Surveying Location(s) Indianapolis - Indiana - United States of America, Remote - US - Remote - US - United States of America **About the Role:** As a Pre-Construction Planning Lead, you will lead the development of comprehensive project financial profiles for large capital construction initiatives for a dedicated Life Sciences client account. **What You’ll Do:** · Lead the development of comprehensive project profiles for large capital construction initiatives. · Conduct early feasibility assessments including site constraints, regulatory considerations, and operational impacts. · Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define project goals, success criteria, and alignment with strategic business needs. · Develop high-level conceptual scopes and narratives for proposed projects. · Create and refine ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) cost estimates for large capital projects. · Partner with internal cost analysis teams to support estimating efforts on smaller projects as time allows. · Provide expert guidance on estimating methodologies, tools, and assumptions used across the team. · Review and validate cost estimates provided by external consultants and contractors. · Develop high-level project schedules prior to detailed design, identifying critical path activities and major milestones. · Align project timelines with business needs, regulatory deadlines, and resource availability. · Support schedule refinement during conceptual design and ensure alignment with downstream execution plans. · Participate in conceptual design efforts, ensuring scope remains aligned with initial project profile and feasibility findings. · Facilitate design reviews and scope validation meetings with engineering, operations, and compliance teams. · Ensure design deliverables support cost and schedule targets established during early planning. · Transition projects to assigned Project Managers once detailed design is complete. · Remain engaged as a strategic advisor throughout execution, particularly during scope changes or change order evaluations. · Support PMs in evaluating contractor proposals and change orders for scope, cost, and schedule impacts. · Work closely with engineering, operations, finance, procurement, and compliance teams throughout the project lifecycle. · Serve as a liaison between business units and project delivery teams to ensure alignment and transparency. · Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff involved in estimating and planning. · Other duties as assigned. **What You’ll Need:** Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future. + Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-10 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. + Strong understanding of construction estimating, scheduling, risk, and feasibility analysis. + Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project, Excel, Procore). + Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills. + Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment. + The innovative mentality to develop methods that go beyond existing solutions. + Ability to solve unique problems using standard and innovative solutions having a broad impact on the business. + Highly sophisticated math skills. The minimum salary for this position is $130,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $155,000 annually.
