The Pre-Analytics Team Lead provides leadership, guidance, and technical oversight for the local pre-analytic services team. This role collaborates closely with department supervisors and site leadership to ensure adequate staffing, maintain service quality, meet performance targets, and uphold safety and regulatory standards. The Team Lead actively supports workflow management, including overseeing 2nd shift rounds, assigning AM rounds, coordinating with nursing staff, and ensuring accurate team documentation.
In addition, the Team Lead is responsible for scheduling 3rd shift coverage, facilitating timely execution of rounds, and serving as the primary trainer for new staff. Competency in phlebotomy is required, as hands-on support may be needed. This position also supports departmental and institutional financial objectives while promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and high-quality patient care.
**A caregiver in this position works nights| 3** **rd** **shift| 9:00pm-6:00am| 1 weekend a month| no holidays.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Lead local work group in daily operations including staffing, service levels, quality and safety.
+ Participate in hiring process as well as input on employee performance, including corrective actions and evaluations.
+ Investigate and resolve routine operational problems and patient issues.
+ Escalate complex problems to Supervisor/Manager.
+ Drive local root cause analysis and implementation of improvements and counter measures.
+ Provide response to local quality concerns and inform critical issues to senior management.
+ Drive front line employee engagement and recognition.
+ Facilitate development for lead techs.
+ Lead and provide Talent Management for team leaders.
+ Oversee onboarding and training of all employees.
+ Order and maintain adequate supplies.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Associate's Degree and three years of Laboratory experience
+ **OR** High School Diploma/GED and five years of experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or a related field (may substitute for experience)
+ 5 years of drawing blood experience
+ ASCP certified
**Physical Requirements:**
+ Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
+ Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
+ Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
+ Ability to travel throughout the hospital system and, in some locations, off-site.
**Personal Protective Equipment:**
+ Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
**Pay Range**
Minimum Annual Salary: $52,270.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $79,727.50
