We are seeking Pre-Analytical Services Assistant 2to join Q2 Solutions, IQVIA’s laboratory business at Durham, NC.

As a Specimen Management Associate 2, you will oversee the accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of clinical specimens. You will support inventory control, guide junior staff, and troubleshoot operational challenges, ensuring compliance and consistency across specimen management procedures.
What you’ll be doing:
Accession, ship, and store clinical samples while ensuring labeling accuracy and timely processing
Maintain freezer systems and inventory records to safeguard sample integrity
Identify errors or risk areas and escalate concerns to senior team members
Support onboarding and training of entry-level associates
Respond to critical functions, including after-hours alerts and lab emergencies
Receive compounds and control materials, based on functional area requirements
Promote compliance with safety, quality, and 6S standards
Communicate promptly and clearly with cross-functional stakeholders
What We Are Looking For:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Bachelor's Degree preferred; some CAP/CLIA locations may require a BS in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology
At least 6 months of related experience preferred
Basic computer proficiency and working knowledge of specimen management protocols Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for this role:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures
Strong attention to detail with ability to resolve routine operational issues
Familiarity with specimen workflows, documentation systems, and safety procedures
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $34,700.00 - $72,300.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
