Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Implements selective aspects of the nursing care plan, i.e., comfort, hygiene, safety measures, nutrition, etc. under progressively more generalized supervision from a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse of a higher level.
Observes patients for changes in physical and/or mental status or behavior and reports significant changes.
Obtains specimens for laboratory testing as assigned.
Takes vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
Administers medication and treatments in accordance with policies and procedures.
Position-Specific Details:
Location: This position is located in the Nursing Department of the LA Veterans Home in Jackson, Louisiana.
Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as a LPN 1/2/3. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.
Work Schedule:This is a 12-hour shift with rotating weekend position. 6:00 am to 6:30 pm Day Shift and 6:00 pm to 6:30 am Night Shift
Compensation: This position offers a Premium Pay of $7.00 per hour worked, plus the following Special Entrance Rates:
LPN 1: $19.48/hour
LPN 2: $20.84/hour
LPN 3: $22.30/hour
