The Powertrain Controls Engineer – Associate is responsible for developing new features and enhancing existing algorithms. This role involves working closely with a cross-functional team, utilizing various tools such as vehicle, HIL, Dyno, Virtual, and rapid prototyping through the V-model development process to ensure the quality and robustness of production algorithms.
ResponsibilitiesInterface with systems and calibration to fully understand the requirements.Develop implementation strategies.Assess and document impacts against regulatory requirements.Markup models to ensure the design meets functional and operational requirements.Validate the design during the production process.Ensure the project is on track by developing plans, tracking progress, and presenting technical reports to management and project chiefs.Participate in the decision-making process on controls strategy design to achieve functional objectives.
Essential SkillsMaster's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.1+ years of engineering experience or relevant educational project experience.Knowledgeable in MATLAB/Simulink.Understanding of controller theory and control systems.Knowledgeable in Powertrain systems, specifically computer-based tools and process-based development, and calibration refinement.
Additional Skills & QualificationsEmbedded software experience.Electronic module and system experience.Experience in Visual Basic and VB.net (a plus but not necessary).Emissions control systems development.
