Power Transmission Specialist/Engineer
Position Summary Our Deloitte Strategy & Transactions team helps guide clients through their most critical moments and transformational initiatives. From strategy to execution, this team delivers integrated, end-to-end support and advisory services covering valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, government operations modernization, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and sustainability. Work alongside clients every step of the way, helping them navigate new challenges, avoid financial pitfalls, and provide practical solutions at every stage of their journey—before, during, and after any major transformational projects or transactions. Work You’ll DoThe Power Transmission Specialist/Engineer will provide technical leadership in power system planning and advise global utilities and energy and power sector agencies. The outcome of this work should be increased exports of US energy and power sector products and services. The role also involves managing projects and small teams (5-6) and coordinating with subject matter experts to deliver impactful solutions in the energy sector. • Act as the lead power system planning specialist for Deloitte’s client • Advise international utilities and public agencies on matters relating to power system planning, for example, cross border transmission • Manage client and counterpart relationships and in many cases act as key client technical contact on engagements• Provide advice on growth opportunities for US products and services across global energy and power markets  • Provide end-to-end project management • Provide advice and support to clients throughout engagements by leveraging a technical and commercial skillset to analyze, interpret, and communicate actionable outcomes • Coordinate with a wide breadth of subject matter experts within Deloitte including consulting, regulatory, and business experts• Help drive overall business development activities for the energy sector – focusing on both internal and external marketing, industry eminence, and new service offerings within an everchanging industry• Coach junior practitioners in their growth and make significant contributions to practice and business development initiatives• Participate in the development and delivery of training programsThe TeamDeloitte’s Government & Public Services (GPS) practice – our people, ideas, technology and outcomes – is designed for impact. Serving federal, state, & local government clients as well as public higher education institutions, our team of professionals brings fresh perspective to help clients anticipate disruption, reimagine the possible, and fulfill their mission promise.Our Sustainability, Infrastructure, Real Estate, & Resilience offering advises clients on climate and disaster-related risks through comprehensive strategy, planning, and crisis management, while also providing expertise in capital investments, infrastructure projects, and real estate portfolio optimization. QualificationsRequired: • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering • 10+ years of experience in power system planning, and expertise in other domains such as Grid Enhancing Technologies (GETS), gas to power, battery energy storage systems and distributed generation• Demonstrated experience in transmission planning, with direct experience using software such as PSS/E, TARA, DigSilent• Experience making recommendations to align projects with industry standards and codes• Experience advising utilities and public sector entities active in the energy and power sector• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future • Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you servePreferred: • Ability to write, communicate, and prepare engagement materials fluently in English and Spanish• Demonstrated experience operating and managing teams to solve complex problems• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills• Previous consulting experience  Information for applicants with a need for accommodation: https://www2.deloitte.com/us/en/pages/careers/articles/join-deloitte-assistance-for-disabled-applicants.html
