ABB Marine & Ports Norway is expanding its team with a new position for Marine Service, looking for both recent graduates and experienced engineers with an interest in control and automation systems on ships. The position offers a unique combination of responsibilities, including service engineering, commissioning, technical support, and engineering tasks. As a Technical Support/System Engineer for power systems, you will work on troubleshooting, developing, and implementing technical solutions, both internally and directly with customers. This is an exciting opportunity to work with ABB’s medium voltage switchboards and power management systems on ships worldwide, mainly from the office but some onboard.
Tasks
Technical support for medium voltage switchboards, power protection and power distribution systems on vessels operating worldwideMedium voltage switchboard technical support covers the whole energy package, from generators to consumerAdvanced troubleshooting through ABB’s Remote Diagnostic System (RDS)Support customers by telephone, e-mail, remote connection and on siteTechnical solutions and advisory function internally in ABB MarineParticipate in improving processes related to Collaborative operations such as technical upgrades for existing systems, create and distribute service bulletins, and perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting in the Marine segmentPossibilities for field service site work, both for own support cases, planned maintenance and on-call service work worldwideContribute towards development and R&D teams further developing and enhancing advanced services and solutionsMedium voltage switchboard technical support covers the whole energy package, from generators to consumerRequirements
