An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Project Manager to join our Power Systems Business team in Thailand. In this role, you will be responsible for leading complex power systems projects from contract signature through to successful customer handover. You will ensure on-time delivery, cost control, stakeholder alignment, and customer satisfaction—particularly with solutions that involve mtu-branded high-speed engines and power generation systems.

Rolls-Royce Power Systems is headquartered in Friedrichshafen in southern Germany and employs around 9,000 people. The product portfolio includes mtu-brand high-speed engines and propulsion systems for ships, power generation, heavy land, rail and defense vehicles and for the oil and gas industry as well as diesel and gas systems and battery containers for mission critical, standby and continuous power, combined generation of heat and power, and microgrids.

Key Accountabilities

1. Customer-Facing Project Management

Act as the main point of contact for customers throughout the full project lifecycle—from contract signature to project handover in Thailand.Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensure clear communication on progress, and proactively manage expectations.Ensure the project scope is delivered in line with contractual agreements, timelines, and customer satisfaction targets.

2. Project Execution and Operational Delivery

Lead project planning, scheduling, cost control, and quality assurance throughout execution.Organize and lead regular project meetings with stakeholders, both internal and external.Track project milestones, coordinate resources, and ensure timely completion.Identify project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.Deliver regular project status updates to the customer and internal stakeholders.

3. Stakeholder and Supplier Management

Support pre-sales and tender efforts by assisting with costing and scope planning.Own execution responsibilities within the Asia-Pacific regional framework.Provide structured monthly progress updates to regional leadership and steering committees.Collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, Execution, and Regional Hub teams to ensure seamless alignment across project scope, especially balance of plant deliverables.Develop strong working relationships with local suppliers to coordinate delivery, installation, and testing activities effectively.

4. Site Execution and Handover

Supervise installation, commissioning, and testing activities on-site to ensure they are conducted safely, efficiently, and to the required standards.Lead communication with customers during site activities, including managing any challenges that arise.Ensure a smooth and successful handover to the customer, meeting all contractual obligations and quality standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.At least 5 years of experience managing technical and engineered projects within the diesel engine or power generation industry.Hands-on experience with mtu branded products, including diesel generator systems or propulsion solutions, is strongly preferred.Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems used in power generation applications.Recognized certification in project management such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent.Proven ability to deliver complex projects within defined timelines, scope, and budget.Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with cross-functional teams and manage diverse stakeholders.Good understanding of Southeast Asian business practices and ability to navigate cultural nuances.Proactive, resourceful, and solution-oriented under pressure.Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when required.
