Your primary responsibility will be to establish and manage strategic relationships with utilities to drive AWS business growth. Working as a senior member of the Infrastructure Energy organisation, you will collaborate with Public Policy, Engineering, and data centre Operations teams to ensure AWS's strategies fully align with emerging policy trends. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will:
• Proactively identify potential risks to AWS's contracted utility power by anticipating changes in utility grid codes and regulations compliance.
• Take the lead in developing comprehensive strategies to maintain AWS data centre compliance with regional utility grid codes and regulations.
• Analyse and shape emerging grid code and connection policy requirements across multiple EMEA jurisdictions.
• Engage with utilities and utility regulators to develop policies and guidelines that advance AWS's broader strategies and objectives.
• Apply extensive expertise in power grids and connection policies, coupled with strategic thinking and advanced stakeholder management capabilities.
• Work collaboratively with partner teams to build and nurture crucial business and technical relationships with diverse stakeholders, including electricity utilities, utility regulators, and policymakers to support AWS business growth.
