Smurfit Westrock is an essential service provider making corrugated containers for a variety of applications. We are currently looking for a 3rd Class Power Engineer to be a part of our maintenance team. Fourth class engineers are welcome to apply if continuing their education to 3rd Class. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for the preventative, predictive and troubleshooting of a steam boiler and production equipment. Knowledge and experience with electrical and mechanical work is preferred.
To be considered for this position, you must be able to work Monday – Friday, 8-hours per day with a weekly rotating shift; midnights 11:00 pm – 7:00 am; afternoons 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm and days 7:00 am – 3:00 pm.
All successful applicants must be able to provide a satisfactory criminal background check, pre-employment medical and a Clear Drug Test.

Ensure that safety codes and other applicable regulation are followed in relations to steam and boilerAssess problems and make changes to existing electrical systems in order to improve performance.Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions in a fast paced, high pressure environmentRepair or replace defective machinery parts on various equipmentOperate machining tools to fabricate partsBasic welding and fabrication skillsGood communication skills, both verbally and written Must be able to work independently and be self-directed in a demanding, fast-paced production environment, adjusting to changing priorities & roles as requiredMust be willing to work in a team environmentAbility balancing a variable workloadFlexibility to work weekends to meet business needs when requiredDaily use of electrical and mechanical skills to support 24hr production equipment.Why work with Smurfit Westrock?
