**Job Description**
We are inviting applications for a **Postdoctoral Research Fellowship position in artificial intelligence and machine learning with a specific interest in applications for cardiovascular diagnostics (imaging, ECG). This work will focus on translational research of state-of-the-art AI methods to fetal, pediatric, and adult congenital cardiology populations.**

**Background:** This position will be in the lab of Dr. Son Duong in the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Human Health in the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (https://icahn.mssm.edu/) in Manhattan, New York, NY, USA. Key topics of interest include but are not limited to: Harnessing cardiovascular imaging data for development of deep learning AI models for disease outcomes and personalized therapeutic recommendations; Development of multi-modal (e.g., waveform, imaging, and clinical data) deep learning for clinical decision support; Translation of foundational vision language models and agentic AI to the cardiovascular bedside; Implementation and comparative effectiveness of AI in cardiovascular medicine and practice.
**Qualifications**
The ideal candidates will have the following background:

1. PhD, or MD/PhD in a computational science-related field (e.g., biomedical informatics, clinical informatics, machine learning, etc.)
2. Significant experience in machine learning techniques is required, ideally with published work and/or code available. Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., Tensorflow, Keras, PyTorch) and platforms (e.g. HuggingFace libraries) is expected.
3. Prior experience in computer vision is desired and familiarity with natural language processing and large language model implementation is desired.
4. Expertise with programming and statistics in Python.
5. Excellent publication track record including conference papers and preprints.
6. Strong communication and presentation skills with fluency in spoken and written English.

**Compensation Statement**
Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $72500 - $80000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
