**Qualifications**
The ideal candidate will hold an MD/PhD or Ph.D. in molecular or cell biology, with demonstrated research experience in chromatin biology, and the use of animal models to study human disease. Prior experience in managing research projects is highly desirable.
A strong publication record in relevant scientific areas will be valued. The candidate should be a fast learner, highly motivated, and collaborative, with a rigorous approach to experimental design, data analysis, and organizational tasks. Effective written and oral communication skills are essential for success in a dynamic, interdisciplinary research environment.
**Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project:**
This research project aims to advance fundamental knowledge in transcriptional regulation and disease mechanisms, with the ultimate goal of contributing to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for the treatment and prevention of disease. Successful outcomes are expected to lead to new grant funding opportunities and high-impact publications in leading scientific journals, thereby enhancing the visibility and translational potential of the research.
**Responsibilities**
This project aims to investigate the genomic, molecular, and epigenetic mechanisms driving the progression of pulmonary fibrosis and lung diseases. Using integrative transcriptomic, epigenomic, proteomic, and bioinformatic analyses, the goal is to identify key signaling pathways and potential therapeutic targets.
The laboratory is embedded within an interdisciplinary research environment and is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for molecular and cellular biology, chromatin biology, and drug and gene therapy development. The research will involve close collaboration with scientists from complementary disciplines and will utilize in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo mouse models to study vascular cell and fibroblast cross-talk and dysfunction, as well as the epigenetic mechanisms underlying inflammatory and cardiopulmonary vascular diseases in small and large animal studies.
Approaches include advanced techniques in transcriptomics, chromatin and epigenomic profiling, and proteomics to comprehensively characterize disease mechanisms and inform therapeutic innovation.
The successful candidate will lead original research aimed at elucidating the molecular mechanisms of gene transcription and cell signaling in both physiological and disease contexts. This includes the application of molecular and cellular biology techniques, chromatin biology, genomic sequencing technologies, and the use of animal models.
In addition to conducting research, the candidate will provide technical training and mentorship to junior scientists, ensuring the development of strong experimental and analytical skills within the team. They will also coordinate collaborative studies with partnering laboratories to advance project objectives and foster interdisciplinary innovation.
