Position Description
Postdoctoral positions are available in Cengiz Pehlevan’s research group at Harvard University. Our group investigates how intelligence emerges from the collective dynamics of simple processing units in neural networks, which drive both artificial and natural intelligence. Current projects span a wide range of topics in deep learning theory and theoretical neuroscience. For more information and recent publications, please visit pehlevan.seas.harvard.edu.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing projects and/or explore new research directions within the group. Depending on available funding, one of the positions may be specifically targeted at candidates interested in the scaling regimes of deep networks.
Basic Qualifications
A PhD is required. We seek candidates with strong analytical and numerical skills, and backgrounds in physics, theoretical neuroscience, applied mathematics, computer science, engineering, or related fields. Experience in relevant research topics is a plus but not required.

Special Instructions
The position is funded for multiple years, with an initial one-year appointment and the expectation of extension contingent on satisfactory progress. Start dates are flexible.
