A Postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Leukemia, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, United States. This position reports to Hussein A. Abbas, MD, PhD (primary mentor). We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to join our leukemia research laboratory. The candidate must possess a deep and robust background in molecular and cellular biology, with a primary focus on immunology of T and NK cells, with extensive experience in co-culture assays, flow cytometry, immune assays and in vivo murine studies. The candidate will play a critical role in advancing our understanding of immune biology of leukemias such as AML, mastocytosis and immune cell interactions and/or the development of both in vitro and in vivo models to study these mechanisms. The scope of the position is highly translational research. All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations. *LEARNING OBJECTIVES* • Conducting experimental research on leukemia. • Immune and inflammation-based studies in leukemia • Developing and utilizing in vitro and in vivo models for immune biology and leukemia research. • Performing molecular and cellular biology experiments. • Engaging in functional genomics studies. • Expertise in cell killing and co-culture assays • Expertise in flow cytometry analysis • Collaborating with both experimental and computational team members. Learning Objectives: Candidates will learn how to perform translational work. The work will be integrated with immunology, functional genomics and computational results that will allow multidisciplinary learning.
