Postdoctoral Fellow - CNS - Rad Onc Research (W. Jiang Lab)
The Jiang Laboratory at the Department of Radiation Oncology, is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our interdisciplinary and collaborative team. Utilizing cutting-edge technologies, we work with in vivo and in vitro models to investigate cancer progression, metastasis, and the tumor microenvironment (TME) in the lens of immunology and how novel methodologies of drug delivery can help combat difficult to treat tumors. We are recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow with a strong background in mRNA vaccine-based technology, lipid nanoparticle construction, and knowledge of self-amplifying mRNA systems. The position will focus on modification and utilization of different carrying system for cargo, like LPN, exosomes, ADC's and their modifications to better deliver payload to ultimately contribute to tumor treatment. Prior experience with mRNA platforms, LPN and exosome-based systems is required for this position. All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations. *LEARNING OBJECTIVES* • Explore cutting edge mRNA vaccine platform technology in the targeting and treatment of cancer, with analysis being used like advanced spatial imaging technologies, single-cell sequencing, and other immunological profiling. • Leverage genomics and transcriptomics data, as well as preclinical models, to decipher the mechanisms of mRNA vaccine-based systems impact on cancer progression. • Engage in collaborative, cross-disciplinary research with access to state-of-the-art facilities and tools. • Acquire professional development and expertise in single-cell sequencing, tissue imaging approaches, functional genomics, and translational research planning and strategy. *ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS* The qualified candidate should posses: • Ph.D. in bioengineering, biological sciences, cancer biology, cell and molecular biology, microbiology, computational biology, or a related field. • Demonstrated expertise in Performing LNP formulation, engineered targeted delivery systems, led a sa-mRNA Drug Product Formulation, and cell and molecular biology techniques. • A track record of scientific productivity, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications. • Strong collaboration, curiosity, creativity, and organizational skills. • Dedication to advancing fundamental knowledge of the cancer immunological landscape and translating findings into innovative therapeutic strategies *POSITION INFORMATION* MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a [salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000](https://trainees.mdanderson.org/apply/mdaPostdoctoralFellowStipendFY24.pdf). depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
