Overview

***This position is physically located in the Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP***

 

Under the guidance of the Postal Services Managers, the Postal Supervisor Plans, Manages, Operates and/or Coordinates administrative and supportive functions of a US Army Postal facility. Represents the department and communicates with individuals in/outside the organization. Makes rational decisions and resolves complications. Elects the best decisive solutions to obstacles associated with Customer Service, Processing and Distributing Mail, Parcel Inspection and Postal Finance Operations.

Supervises Postal Operations: Organize, Plan, and Prioritize daily task, duties and mission.Creates and monitors established work schedules and assignments for staff, according to workload, space and equipment availability.Employee Management (hiring, accountability, credentials management).Confers with Postal Managers on confidential matters (personnel actions, supervisory reports, etc.) in accordance with company policies.Ensures functional area specific training designed to improve operational capabilities, employee performance and job competency are complete.Communicates with Management, Peers, or Subordinates providing information and instruction to leads, co-workers, and subordinates in writing, through forms, e-mails, telephone and/or in personMaintains knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as managing files and records, creates forms, and other office proceduresTrains, identify educational needs and develop training plan for staff membersPerforms other duties as assigned and directed by the Postal Management and/or Directorate.Develops, implement, refine and inspects policies, procedures and filesOversees the preparation, and processing of pro-grade and retro-grade mail in accordance with USG.Monitors work actities and assure accurate results assessing quality and quantity produced by employees.Evaluate subordinate staff, comparing objectives and achievements in assessment; coaches’ employees in process improvements.Comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.Must be a U.S. CitizenMust be able to obtain and maintain valid Secret ClearanceA valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and host nation Driver’s License, is required.High School Diploma, or equivalent is required/college degree is a plus.Experience:High School Diploma, or equivalent is required/college degree is a plus.Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Military Postal Operations,Minimum two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role.Previous experience handling accountable and registered mail requiredSkills:The ability to supervise and manage all APO postal operations, which consist of mail processing and distribution, Operations Section and Finance Operations to include customer service, parcel inspections and parcel bagging.Must process strong organizational skills, Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Office Tools.Ability to work with very diverse workforce.Excellent communicator both in writing and verbally.Proficient in writing, Performance Improvement Plans (PIP), SOP'S, Related Training, and Work Instructions.Willing to work on holidays, short notices, all shifts, and overtime.Working Conditions:Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions (in/outdoor) with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 130 degrees in the summer months).Includes some industrial production environment conditions as wellPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 70lbs.Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations.
